Well, I don’t agree with Carlin’s assessment, but I will give him his due: he was one funny bastard.
Carlin, of course. I should have known.
Whew! Hope I am never on trial in France!
I thot I recognized him.
Yeah. He’s really laying it on thick.
“A blot on every man, woman, and child of France.”
Still Douglas’ plea is better.
I love the way Kubrick uses the camera.
I sure as hell wouldn’t want duck for my last meal.
Yup. Compared to other films from the 50s, this one holds up really well.
“Now you got the edge on him”
HA!
This is a amazing. “The general wants him to be conscious.”
Another great moment this interaction between Roget and Dax.
Well, he is a dick.
I’ve had a boss like Roget and a boss like Dax. I’ll tell ya, the Dax boss makes you want to work for them. I learned so much wanting to impress him.
You gotta love it: the men are in the trenches, the officers are dancing in high society.
Soldiers are like children…indeed. rolls eyes
You can usually spot the ones like Dax. Usually they are the ones leading from the front, and looking out for the people under their command. I guess you could say he is looking to do his duty, while Roget is looking out for numero uno.
Dax tries everything to save these men. So honorable.
It’s true. Children are often inspired by watching other randomly selected children being executed.
“I haven’t had one sexual thot since the court martial.”
Love that line.
