if it’s as well put together as the first, this could be really good.

hopefully it can have the same feel as the first

basically hopefully it doesn’t Blare Witch 2 itself :stuck_out_tongue:

also just looked at the imdb board for it and I have to agree with the “they better not hurt the dog!!!” thread

Personally i didnt care for the first one. I felt it was bout 45 minutes to long and it should have ended about 90 seconds before it did. I might check out hte sequel when it hits Netflix

their original ending that they didn’t end up using was a TON better IMO

Personally, I liked the ending that they used better than the alternate they had on the DVD. In an interview on AOTS, the two cast memebers said they shot a few differnt ones…so I’m intersted in the ones that weren’t used.

But I agree-nothing better happen to the dog.

which alternate ending are you talking about?
I’m talking about the one where Katie just comes back upstairs and sits rocking next to the bed for a full couple days when cops eventually come, she stands up and starts walking towards them with the knife and they shoot her
didnt see that one–that sounds good actually. The on eI saw was
she looks into the camera, pulls out a knife and slits her throat
just went and looked that one up on youtube

I can’t find the one I was talking about, but I actually saw the one I’m talking about on youtube the night after I saw the actual movie, now it seems like 4 out of every 5 alternate endings on youtube are fakes or jokes =/

ummm…the kid…is moving backwards

Oh man, I can not wait for this movie. The First one scared the hell outta of me for like 2 weeks I couldn’t sleep. This movies gonna be so sweet.

Well, that second trailer gave me goosebumps…

Sorry for the people who like the genre but I found this spoof trailer of the movie and found it funny.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vP49A97smbs

But joking aside I’m never satisfied when a trailer (like the first one) who only talk about people impression of the first movice or with camera in a movie theater.

It reminds me of the white noise trailer, where

1- you don’t see anything of the movie.

2- They talk about the science (if there is) of listening to spirits through taping white noise. And the subtitle of what the spirit said, it writes “Get out of my house” but it could have been “Hey! who up for some Nachos” or “Luke I’m your father” because it’s gibberish.

When watching the movie I understood why they didn’t show any part in the trailer. But it doesn’t help at all to know if it’s a movie you want to see.

For the first movie I didn’t want to watch it but one day it was playing on the TV so I watched a good part of it and for some reason I couldn’t stop watching so I guess it worked even if I found that the guy was an a… . A shame they didn’t use the alternate endings mentioned in other posts.

But I guess those kind of movies are previewed to death to find what the majority of the pre-viewers wanted to see.

well just got back from seeing it

Non Spoiler Section: while it took a lot longer to get going in the second one than the first once it got going I enjoyed it more than the first

Spoiler Section:
liked how they tied it to the first, ‘hey lets pawn it off on katie!’ whoops demon comes back and gets you anyway! loved the shock scenes, where it literally drags the mother out of the baby’s room twice in a row all the way down into the basement and goes into possession mode

some plot holes if you were bothered me a bit but I had to force myself to overlook them, like where the demon has the daughter locked out of the house, takes hunter out of the crib…at this point why not just take him and go?

also THEY DID SOMETHING TO THE DOG URGH!!!
sure I’ll have more points when I’ve thought about it for a bit

It looks terrifying from the trailer I ain’t seein git in the theaters. I gotta protect my rep

saw it yesterday and what you mentioned took me right out of the experience. I was not happy

I can live with some plot holes when matching things up with PA1 considering 1 was written without a sequel in mind but what I mentioned was probably my biggest issue with it

Quite disappointed in PA2. For me, every scare was telegraphed, so I felt that the effects were less frightening since you could see them coming a mile away. It worked in the first, not so much here.

Although I did like the way they tied the two flicks together, no new ground was broken here. I hope the inevitable PA3 gives us more in the way of history regarding the demon.

I wrote my full review on my site if anyone is interested.

Paranormal Activity is pale in comparison to the original only because the original was brilliant in how it placed the entire ordeal through the eyes of the characters, and therefore making it a commentary about their relationship. By taking the new events out of people’s hands and putting it in emotionless security cameras, we are now focusing more on the events than the people. This time I found myself more anticipating things than dreading it. I am still amazed how the most minimal things cause such dread, but I would have loved to really get into these characters’ heads, and beat that father character to an inch of his life for endangering his family over his pride.
