Origins Game Fair

Origins Game fair is running from June 25 to June 29th this year.
I’ll be there (New job permitting…) with my GWC geekcard somehow tastefully attached to my convetion badge.
If there is anyone else that is planning on being there, lets see if we can get some kind of meetup going.
I know there is usually at least one Sci.Fi. Minis game and on Saturday night is the Smithee Awards.

Later,
Alex

What is the location? Me big chief boardgame fan.

I love Google! It’s in Cleveland, Ohio. Here’s the link to their web site:

It is in COLUMBUS Ohio.
At the Greater Columbus Convention Center.

Please make your travel plans appropriately.

I was kinda hoping it was in the New England area. I don’t think I’ll be able to make it to Ohio for that. Does Origins move around each year, or is it always in Ohio?

According to the wikipedia entry it is based in Columbus, kinda like Dragon Con is based in Atlanta.

Thanks Steve. Not this year, but maybe next year I’ll manipulate my schedule to get myself to Origins in Ohio.

I noticed “Galactica is the fifth cylon” in your Sig. Seriously, that’s an interesting thought. Remember the final four cylons were hearing “All Along the Watchtower” from IN the ship. Also, is it maybe not a conicidence that the Galactica survived when the rest of the fleet did not ('cept Pegasus of course).

Whoops! Sorry about that, read one thing and typed another. :frowning:

For the first 20 or so years of it’s existance, Origins used to be a gypsy convention, hitting different cities across the country, but more often then not on the East coast. Then in 1996, they got a long term contract to run in Columbus, and have been there ever since. The convention organizers even moved their offices a few years ago to Columbus, so it will probably stay there until the convention outgrows the city, like when Gencon outgrew Milwalkee and moved to Indinapolis.
