One Mac, Multiple iPhones with Different Accounts

So here is the deal I need to prepare for. I have one Mac. Up to now it was just me on it using iTunes signed in with my iTunes account syncing to my iPhone which also uses the same iTunes account.

Now my wife is getting an iPhone. How does this work? I know she will need her own account, but how will this work on the computer when she syncs? Will she need to log me out on iTunes and log in herself? Do we setup multiple accounts on the Mac which means the music collection will need to be duplicated?

Help?

Apple is your friend.

I like Method 2.

If you have different Apple Store accounts you’ll need to go with method one.

Thank you both. Didn’t have time to look it up so I appreciate it. The next question is if you are using multiple user accounts on your mac, how do you share the one repository of music? Answer: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1203

My wife and I share the same iTunes account. It seems silly to buy the same stuff over and over again.

What about iCloud accounts? Hub and I are sharing one, and that seems to be working so far. Anyone else have a different thot?

This is so weird to me! Samantha and I treat our computers like our phones–mine is mine and hers is hers. If I for some reason want to use hers, I ask first. She does the same. I buy a lot more music than she does, but when we both want an album we take turns buying on our separate itunes accounts. Neither of us has iphones, so we don’t have to deal with these issues related to the upgrade. But now I’m wondering how many people share computers and various online accounts with their SOs.
