No. And no. But my lower back hurts and I haven’t checked a mirror. I might have a tramp stamp tatoo.
I was still feeling pretty good around 4:30am but by the time I got to the softball fields at 8am, not so much. It didn’t hurt my game play, though. I play centerfield and made three diving catches. Woot for me.
FrakinT, I’m gonna tell you this a friend. That thong bikini of yours is causing a weird tan-line.
That’s not a tan-line.
I’m not sure I want to know…
Don’t worry about it. The aliens did the same thing to me when they abducted me. Does yours have the weird alien glyphs on the front too?
No, just arrows pointing to me naughty bits.
Aliens from Planet Gutter?
Did you ever see that? It had Sybil Danning playing the role of Queen Erotica.
…The Sean “After Action Report”…
Well thanks to everybody for coming out to the NYC meetup! We are now back in Dallas safe, sound and not too much the worse for wear. I wanted to personally thank everyone who came out (and my mug is in the air) Talos, Yorick, Raemani, Closing Time, Tanu and Dark Territory.
It’s always amazing to me that the folks at the meetups are the coolest people I ever have the pleasure to meet.
I will mention the place only in that I was immediately at home there and the good folks who did the scouting rock like a cinder block. It was perfect. We simply walked up and were welcomed and recognized. It felt a little like hanging around the home base with friends I’ve known for years actually. Which I guess we kind’ve have when I get to thinking about it.
I was a great couple of hours with good food and good company. As some of you have already heard Talos was heavy on the scotch but I would put the consumption somewhere between Mother Theresa and Ron Moore (read: harmless) I found him to be quite jolly and a kindred spirit.
I felt certain Yorick would be announced by the throngs of adoring girls cooing over his every word but I was of course incorrect as he quietly arrived, intro’d himself and slid into a chair to join in the banter, as mentioned earlier… mostly with Chuck about flight stuff. Personally I think he is quite humble… were I an honest to god rocket scientist with a French accent, big ass (sorry barb) guns and single like him I would be quite the man about town. So it’s prolly best Yorick has these qualities and not me.
Raemani and Closing Time were completely awesome company and most delightful to hang with. Raemani of course picked us out of the crowd walking down the street immediately and made us feel welcome. I can’t recall anyone I have ever met being better at the art of conversation and creating a relaxing environment than those two.
Tanu wound up sitting across from me and I must say though she may be soft spoken, anyone not sitting close enough to hear her over the din of the Aston was missing out – witty doesn’t begin to cover it. Dark territory was seated right next to Tanu across from me and proved to be a super-sharp dude with a great sense of humor, he also had an easy smile which he used often. Between him, Tanu, Rea, CT and Talos I think the conversation drifted between so many topics that I failed to keep up with them after the beer arrived (or in Talos’ case scotch).
I’ll take a stab though. Topics ranged from hotness (disproportionate and otherwise) to wookie love, star wars, Firefly and of course BSG. I was put on the spot at one point to do impressions (which I kind of cheated and did sheep stuff) but it was still a good time as I explained where the sheep impression came from originally (Insert GR quote here) and we debated what roles we three fill in the cast, to which we still have no answer.
In short – too late I know – good folks, lots of toasts and a great time was had by all… or by me at least Thank you to everyone who came out and made a rather awkward Texas kid feel welcome far from home.
~Sean
PS: sorry about the length
Oh yeah… and I can’t wait till the next one!
Sorry about the double post
For anyone who would like to see it, here’s the pic from the meetup
Thanks again to everyone who came out!
My eyes are closed. DoH!!
Thanks for the sharing, almost felt like I was there. Just so everyone knows, we have scotch here in AZ too.
Just admit it: you were already dozing off due to whiskey-induced intoxication!
Nah! If that were true I’d be on the table ala Tom Cruise on Oprah or Lee Adama when they reach Erf style. Slightly followed by under the table ala Samuel T. Anders on New Caprica drinking with Kara Thrace.
Besides I’m Scotchy McGee, not Lightweight McGee or CheapDate McGee. It was really one of those ‘When is the waiter going to take this picture? I can’t keep my eyes…’ DoH moments.
Sure 'Talos, we believe you.
Yay! The picture looks great! … well, except for, you know…
But really, eyes closed or not, it’s a good picture. I’m impressed that the waiter got us all in it, standing as close as he was. That must’ve been a magic camera.
Well, it’s a good thing you have quite the Scotch tolerance then, FT. (and good lord man, what would it take, 20 drinks???) Because then we’d have had plates crashing to the floor, scotch and vodka flying everywhere, some very frightened bystanders… chaos would’ve ensued. And more importantly, I didn’t to bring any singles.
Very nice! I believe we were promised more pictures though…from Sean…yes? What were they supposed to be of? crap with the memory…who else was paying attention but has better memory?
