Hey – any chance one or more of you would call in on the voicemail line and leave us a little message from the show floor? It’d be awesome.
I brought my cell in case there was something worth calling in over but using cell phones on the floor was not allowed.
I was chatting with someone in line waiting to buy some pretzels who noticed my Frak Off t-shirt and naturally the conversation went right to BSG. He mentioned that Aaron Douglas had been in the autograph area but I wasn’t able to find him.
Tahmoh Penikett was also there on Sunday as part of the Dollhouse panel but I didn’t make it to that panel. We had a 7 year old and an 11 year old with us so the Dollhouse panel was not an option
So no BSG joy on Sunday.
But OMG it was a blast. Total geek joy everywhere. Chewbacca all 7+ feet of gave the kids a pet and a purr. Storm troopers, Jedi warriors, every sci fi , every fantasy, anime, gaming characters you could think of walking around the hall.
At one point I noticed two guys with cardboard boxes over their heads which was funny. Even funnier when I got closer and realized they were doing a Little Big Planet thing.
We tried to do the Fringe session but even 30 mins ahead of the start time the room was filled to capacity with a line forming. The kids were tired, we were tired, and decided to opt out.
This was my first Comic Con but not my last. We are already planning a trip to the one in Baltimore this fall.
Who’s heading to Comic Con in NYC this October? I’m going for the first time- yay!
There are a few (ok a decent sized group) going - check out the NYC in Oct thread pinned at the top of the meet-ups section.
Yesterday, I went to my first con- New York Comic Con. I was looking forward to seeing all of the costumes and checking out some of the interesting panels. I was not dissapointed. Due to the complications inherent in using NYC mass transit on the weekends, I missed the morning BSG panel. HOWEVER, I GOT TO SEE THE WOMEN OF BATTLESTAR GALACTICA PANEL!
I posted my pictures in NYC Oct meetup thread.
