New guy questions

Hello all, new guy here. I’ve been lurking for a while but finally got around to posting. I have some random thoughts that I would like see what others think, and I do apologize in advance if these topics have been covered to death and/or are lame.

Now that I have had some time to reflect on the series and rewatched the finale I still questions:mad:

Who exactly was the dying leader then? Was it still Laura or was it the Galactica itself? Just not sure.

As cool as it was when the opera house all came together, I am still unsure as to why these three people, who just happen to be on the ship, are all having this vision.

They didn’t really come back to mention or explain Kara’s Viper…thoughts?

Although I really enjoyed the finale, I was hoping that they would have went with a more scientific ending. I would like to hear some ideas or theories on how it could be explained without bringing in religion.

And finally:
I started listening to the podcasts before 4.5 started and have listened to them all now, I have discovered a cool drinking game. If take a shot everytime Sean says “cool” you will be drunk in twenty minutes:)

I do wish however during the finale podcasts, they would have come out and said whether they liked it or not. The talked a lot about things they did like but were kinda vague on how they felt about the series and ending as a whole.

Well that’s all I got for now. I look forward to chatting with all you and making some new pals!

You too. I drink everytime Chuck says Awesome also. Takes me a few times to get through the entire 'cast.

Welcome aboard, section-z!

You’ll find there are a few people who share your thoughts. You can start with the thread named Can a grand finale be. Some of your question and issues were addressed in there, I believe.

In fact, once upon a time we made a GWC Drinking Game!

Some of those questions are pretty much still being speculated. The Kara Viper thing is probably a God type miracle 9along with her resurecction…dying leader was probably Laura (but could also be seen as galactica in a way, since it broke it’s back technically just before they orbitted earth)

enjoys the casts - there’s a LOT of good stuff there…

I have to go with Laura. Even if nothing matches the prophecies exactly I believe from the beginning Laura was intended to be the dying leader.

IMO this all falls under the “caused by God” category. The visions were given by God, Kara and the Viper were resurrected by God and in the end it was explained that all the supernatural happenings were caused by the God character.

I don’t see how the ending is any more religious than scientific. They don’t explain who or what the God character is which is the beauty. It could be anything you can imagine from the creator of the universe to a more advanced alien or one from another dimension, let your imagination decide. I think the reason RDM threw in the “You know he doesn’t like to be called that” line so that we could decide and he didn’t have to draw a line in the sand. Anyways TMO.

Welcome Z and I hope to see you around. FYI - I like to drink when Chuck says “exacTly”.

Ha, man that’s too funny. Sad thing is I have caugh myself saying it to. Thanks for all the well wishes and help.

What he said.

Welcome Z. Stick around. As far as drinking games go, I listen to the podcast while on my commute, so I think the law would frown upon my playing along. (Although my variant would involve any time Chuck says “just sayin’.”)

Oh Armando, so short sighted! Slam your coffee/soft drink/caffeine deilvery system of choice instead! Sure, you’re not getting drunk, but it’s fun just the same!

That’s even more dangerous: Beltway commute + extra coffee = bladder explosion.

Welcome aboard, Z.
