Where I come from, New England = an english soccer team :D:eek:
I’m gonna be in the Prudential Center/Newbury Street/Copley Square area all day Wednesday (10/29) for a work thing. So my hope is to pick a spot that in walking distance of that area.
There’s an Irish Pub called “Solas” in the Lenox Hotel.
http://www.lenoxhotel.com/boston-restaurants.html
How does that sound?
Sounds like a Guinness to me.
It’s right across the street!
Are you going to be able to join us, LT? Please, please say “yes”.
Gonna try my frakin’ darndest.
You’ll be so close that I should at least be able to stop by for one…
Don’t have much control over work (capitalism, harumph), but I’m planning on playing a “guys night out” card with the misses.
Good man.
Four people makes a good group.
I’m trying to figure out how Solas can be that close to you, if your in Quincy and Solas is in the Copley area?
I work at 745 Boylston in Boston.
Quincy is where I commute from every day on the lovely Red Line T.
Serendipity. Cool!
Yeah, I know the area well. I went to college down the road on Huntington Ave: Northeastern University.
How did you ever find an Irish Pub in Boston??
Looks great, and I’m already half in-love with the pic of the bartender at the City Bar on the Lennox website.
I am really depressed to have to say this, but I’m not going be able do the Meet-Up this Wednesday. For personal reasons too boring to go into here, I just can’t be there.
Sorry guys. I was so looking forward to it
I PM’d you guys…
But I know how late I read my PMs myself, so here’re the suspenders to go along with the belt…
So Thot’s out.
…and I’m not sure how how I feel about leaving my wife with bronchitis on solo toddler duty.
But since honestly I’d feel guilty either way, I figured I’d ask the opinions of Mr. Gun and Mr. FBC Esq. (the 2 who would actually have to travel to get here).
S’only fair, considering the meetup site favored Thot & me.
As of right now, I’m still in.
(But I can’t promise how long I’ll be able to stay)
Hold or pass?
Anyone? Anyone?
Holy GPS, Batman! I grew up in Danbury…then Bethel…then Newtown…Stamford…Sandy Hook…Litchfield…New Milford…heck, I should have smelled the nutmeg coming off you from a mile away!
But surprisingly, your Avatar doesn’t have the “Spot the Stew Leonard’s Bag” hidden in it…boo!
Hi I am up in Rocky Hill…we now have a Stew Leonards in Newington and they have bulletin boards full of pictures of people with bags.
Damn. I grew up near Waterbury. What’s the call letters for the radio station in Danbury? something-X-something? I cut my teeth on their stuff.
WXCI, still going strong, still keeping it weird. And gods yes, they were months ahead of any other “alternative” edge…
That’s the one, thanks. Good to know they’re still going.
And I had always pictured these girls as intelligent, very cute rocket scientists with really short skirts.
Wait…they hire 18 year olds to (ahem) cheerlead for professional football teams? Jesus H. Particular Christ…
Short notice, and maybe not your cup of tea, but that band that keeps allowing me to sing for is playing in downtown Hartford tomorrow. So should I happen to spot any GWCers, maybe we’ll gather on the stage and sing along to “Gaeta’s Lament”. Maybe lop a few legs off for sentimental reasons.
And if anyone is closer to the CT/RI border, we’ll be in Colchester next Saturday, and will probably head to the casinos (most likely Mohegan) after the bar closes circa 2am. Although I don’t know if there are any peeps in that corner of New England that have spoken up as of yet…
