New England Fans

You can start now.

yup. and the crying is allready starting: “but they cheated…whaaaahhh:(”

Pats just destroyed the Steelers !!! 13 wins and counting ! They are pretty incredible…

I am a bad, bad New Englander.I did not watch the game. Is it true that they’re still undefeated? Is is possible that some on the team are cyclons?

They are still undefeated. Don’t know about the Cylon part !

Suddenly struck by mental vision of the Steelers coach complaining to the press, “Gods damn it, theyre all a bunch of filthy cheating Cylons!”

FYI- Hence why Larry’s team is the Patriots.

Hey guys.
Another New Englander here. Raised in NH. Living around Beantown some 20+ years (currently Quincy).

Been lurking, not yapping, because of the 1 year old parasite I helped spawn that keeps me tethered to the apartment. Can’t even seem to get to the movies, let alone take off on any personal geek-meet-n-greet in our only car. (They say the radiation levels are unsafe outside the dome anyway.)

So, if you ever do meet up, just remember to take notes, cuz I’ll be looking for 'em here.

Grew up in CT.

Not the rich part.

Most of it isn’t the rich part, but nobody understands that.

sigh

Boston teams suck just as bad as NY teams.

Yeah, I went there. Deal.

Whoa. Whoa. That’s some kinda blanket you just statemented.
The Revolution seems to be unsullied by outrageous sums of money, cheating, doping or over-excited ya-dude fans.

Not that I care. Not a fan of any pro sport, nor the mindset of many of their fans. It seems to me that, instead of promoting sportsmanship, pro sports often incubate a kind of random, geography based “everyone else but us sucks” fanaticism. The same dangerous mindset that you see in blind nationalism and xenophobia. The same pointless hate that pitted Hatfield against McCoy, Montague against Capulet, and Lilliputian against Blefuscudian. You can keep it.

Ok, My turn.

Grew up in Massachusetts.

Live in NH—have for about 15 years.

Have had it up to “here” with snow—I mean litterally the snow is up to my chest…the snow banks are at least.

Toaster, I think a New England meet it is a great idea. And you should come along too.
All you need to do is upload your 1 year old to Forum for the evening. I’m sure these nice people will watch him/her/it for you.

Sports? Well, my rule is I’ll start watchin’ when my Boston teams get near big win—World Series, Superbowl --whatever. I watched a total of one baseball game last year–Game 4 of the WS. But in general I’m with ya, Toaster—if I have some spare hours to watch TV…the list of things I’d watch rather than sports is long.

I did promise a woman I work with who is based in San Diego that I would watch the Chargers-Patriots game this Sunday. A lot of men may consider her an ideal wife cuz she’s a huge football fan. Conversely, many women may consider me an ideal husband because I could care less about sports…and because I’m so Thotful.

Seriously though, I’ll be there if I can, wherever there ends up being.

I was born in Philly, raised in NYC, live in Stamford, commute to NYC.

:):) 17.

I’d be up for a New England meet…there are at least enough of us to take over a table at a restaurant now.

I live near Rt 95/495, between Boston and Providence, RI. Will travel. And I’ll pick up Toaster on the way.

Not sure that would be necessary, but thanks for the offer none-the-less.
Topgun proves once again that the GWC has the friendliest forum ever.

Wow. 18.

Soon to be 19!!!

Superbowl, here they come.

Yesterday I was at Best Buy with the wife and kids, and we were buying a TV.
It was a surreal experience to walk around the HDTV section of the store and see the Patriots battling the Chargers on 30 different brands and sizes of large flat screen TVs.
We stoped for dinner after and they restraunt was playing the game on the radio.
The moral of the story is, in New England, the game comes to you no matter where you are.
Awesome job Patriots. Superbowl here we come!

Speaking of football, has anyone else seen this hilarious video? It appears Hitler is a cowboys fan….
Warning does contain some vulgarity if you are offended by such things, but the video is worth checking out.
