Well, it had the flavor of The Age of the Roman Empire - with all its gods and decedence - with monotheistic Christians beginning to emerge and worship the one, true “good” God. But then there was the clincher - The One, True, Good God giving humans the ability and right to create life (I heard that correctly - right?). Now that throws a wrench into the works as to the issue of whether this monotheistic religion is path to salvation from the hedonism that seems to be plaguing Caprican society.
BSG was a sort of metaphor about war and in some ways post-9/11 American society (the enemy looks like “us” now), etc… So it makes a certain amount of sense that the next issue the “character driven drama set against a sci-fi backdrop” would tackle is religion (on a larger scale than BSG did) and the descent of society into hedonism. The best sci-fi has always been a metaphor for modern society.
i think the quote was something more like “gave her the ability and right to create life” that girl was talkn bout his(stoltz) dead daughter(right)??? maybe she somehow created life, ie the cylon(z)??
It looks interesting enough. It’s often hard to know how good a series is going to turn out from the first few shows and even harder from a trailer like this. One thing I thought of is that I like Battlestars and battles so I hope they work those in through inter-colony wars or something.
Ok, I’m intrigued.
