Yeah…hrmm. I’m still quite leery about this. On one hand, you’ve got Tim Minear behind (at least) the pilot. That’s obviously cred-worthy in and of itself. At the same time, though, I’m not too comfortable with SyFy’s motivation for doing this. Half of me thinks that it is an attempt for them to do sci-fi that’s as close as possible to the procedural craaap on the major networks in the hope of bringing in “normal” viewers. The other half of me feels like it’s simply a reactive attempt to ride the coattails of the slowly increasing interest in District 9. Neither of those possibilities make me feel very warm and fuzzy.
yeah—thought about D9 myself…we’ll see. The premise is intersting.
I’m always getting Alien Nation confused with Coneheads, which brings to mind that Red Hot Chilli Peppers’ song, Soul to squeeze
ended poorly. This is a chance to fix that. And if the grit of BSG is added to it it could be engrossing stuff.
