Name That Game!

I love to find old games form my childhood and reminisce, but there is one arcade game I can find NO evidence of and it almost seems I imagined it (but i didn’t, I swear)

In this arcade game you were a wizard with a sword and would fight around a static screen (no scrolling) - the gimmick was that the sword would swivel using a knob for control. Circa 1985-ish

i seem to remember the word “castle” or “wizard” being in the name.

If anyone knows what game this was/is, it would put years of wondering to rest.

thanks!
Steve

Stevie,

At first, I thought of Dragon’s Lair and Gaunlet. But I think you know those.

I found this. I kinda remember it.

Reminded me of Adventure.

no this game was much more obscure than those 2- but i remember playing it at an arcade in Florida when I was a little kid.

there were platforms on the screen you could jump on and attack from. it had 8-bit graphics probably super-nintendo or high NES level.

agh!

Warrior maybe?

I watched a bit of that video, that game looks remarkably similar to a Teeage Mutant Ninja Turtles game that was on the NES. It’s almost like one was just a re-skinning, re-texture… I’m not sure on the terminology for such old games, of the other.

Hey there - it was in that general era, but there was no scrolling.

thanks for looking into it tho! =)

I have neither the time (well, maybe I do) nor the patience (that one is definitely true), but there is a website - www.klov.com

Killer List of Video Games. They have lots of pictures of machines to go with the listings - that could help!
