My final thoughts..

I know you may be wondering why I made this but I just felt the need to sit down and hash out what the show’s ending meant for me take it or leave it…
I grew up with BSG, I was a kid when it started and I’m a adult now.
Every thing I am about to say is heartfelt and I believe it with every fiber of my being. I am not kissing RDM’s ass so if you think that well then you can show yourself out…With that out of the way…

“I’m on bright stars…”-Anders
The final battle was by far the best ending battle I have ever seen…Adama’s plan was awesome. The CGI was stunning. The gunfights had me on the edge of my seat. I have never felt my heart pace more for a TV show in my life. It was a pure epic.

“The five faces”-Hybrid
The way the Opera House came to be was…wow…That scene has been in the minds of the fans for so long and to finally see it was a true gift to the fans I felt. I loved it so much…I was not in my house during that scene…
I was on that ship…I was standing before the Five…

“Angel blazing in the light of god”-Leoben
Stunning…
Again…
The use of both Kara’s past and what she was and the meaning behind watchtower coming together in that scene is one of the greatest in the history of the show. Katee Shackoff was so good.

“Life here began out there”-Adama
Speechless…
Finding Earth…
A few scenes come to my mind when I think about it…
Lee’s speech about letting it all go…
Ander’s finally being connected to the perfection he was seeking…
Ellen and Tigh finding peace at last…
Adama alone with his memories…
Wow…

“All of this has happened before”-Angel Six
I now understand something I didn’t before and that is that the cycle is not a bad thing becasue for all our hubris as a people we will always rise up. We will all ways seek to be god and while this will irrevocably lead to our end it will also lead to a rebirth… We will create AI but does that mean they will revolt? Will we destroy ourselfs? All of this has happened before but we choose if it happens again…

For whatever the end was for you for me it was the final goodbye to a show that has made me ask who and what I am at such a young age I feel I will be a better person becasue of it…

So that’s all I have… That’s my final thoughts on the ending…
I’ll be somewhere along the watchtower.

Great post. I have been explaining to people how much I loved the finale and you have done it in an elegant fashion. Next time I try, I will point them to your post.

I didn’t think there was anything elegant about my post but thank you so much for that.

I had a longer version that I just didn’t like so this is the bare bones of it.
Basicly I went in to more of what I liked but I felt shorter is better when it’s coming from me. I don’t think of myself as a good writer but I do feel strongly about the show. :stuck_out_tongue:

Well, keeping the comments spare and to the point is what I thought was so elegant. :smiley: You make a great case for the emotion evoked for the major points that affected you, and it so happens me. Nicely done.
