Now that I recall… I think Spike and Applejack are the only holdovers from earlier incarnations of the series. So Twilight is shaded like Spike, not the other way 'round.

In D&D, usually. In the original Greek myth, every time one was cut off, two would grow back, so any more than one was possible.
