Methuselah's Children

hey everyone, I just got the audiobook of Heinlein’s “Methuselah’s Children” to listen to during my drive back to school tomorrow. I was reading a synopsis of it, and it said that the story is a culmination of Heinlein’s “Future History” series.

now, i haven’t read any of his books before, and this one looked interesting, but I was wondering if it is a later part of a whole series, and if I should begin with a book other than this one? anyone have a clue?

No, it isn’t a series in the sense that you have to read them in order. Basically, a lot of Heinlein’s stories are set in the same future universe that is collectively known as his “future history”.

Occasionally one of his books will refer to the events of another in passing but you don’t have to have read the other book in order to understand things. For example, someone may mention the lunar rebellion but you won’t have to have read The Moon is a Harsh Mistress to know what is going on. (Though you should read it anyway because it’s a good book.)
