LXD: The Legion of Extraordinary Dancers

So I first saw just an image of this new web-series made for HULU called LXD and it looked really awesome. Kinda like a super hero Comic booky film noir thing. Then I saw it was a show about dancers and was immediately turned off. But then i saw the trailer and was intrigued. It did appear to be a super hero comic booky film noir thing but with dancing. And that’s exactly what it is. And let me tell you it is Fraking awesome!

It is made up of a bunch of short videos each introducing the characters as of now. The entire story is sort of up in the air but it would appear that there are good guys, the LXD, and a yet unnamed bad force. Each side seems to be recruiting forces. Most of the stories actually have little to no dialogue. It reminds me heavily of The Animatrix and/or the anime Robot Carnival.

They release new episodes every Wend. So far they have 3 of them released. i htink there are a total of 8 episodes this season and they supposedly have 3 seasons in the can so far.

I highly recommend even if you are not a fan of dancing its still pretty Bad SorryBarb

Here is the Trailer

They performed at the Oscars and So You Think You Can Dance. They had said they were working on something. Thanks for letting me know. They are teh ossim!

So io9 did a great interview with the creator Jon Chow. He answered some questions i had (such as why are there so few ladies in the show. They were on tour) and when the next season starts etc. I was also amazed that they shoot each episode in one day. If you see one you will be surprised too. Even though each episode is only about 8 to 12 minutes but they are more or less 8 to 12 minutes of a huge stunt and or action scene. But here is the interview. And seriously guys you should really check this show out. Its pretty amazing.

I saw this and since I love all things dance (My guilt movie is Save the last dance), I’m interested in this. I actually posted this to the 3rd Race (Audra, Chuck and Sean).

Got to love the dedication dancers have.
