I’m currently trying to figure out whether either the Sandman-spinoff “Lucifer” or the revamped “Sandman Mystery Theatre” is something I would like to read.
I’m unsure about SMT, its premise sounds like something I would like, noir-ish. But there’s also the 100 Bullets series that I’m itching to start reading.
Lucifer I’m even more unsure about, I like a theologically inspired tale once in a while, but I was actually thinking about reading “Preacher” instead of Lucifer.
I feel culturally illiterate for not having read Preacher. Keep me posted, and if Preacher is your choice, I’ll get it too.
I’m almost certain I’ll read Preacher and not Lucifer. But you can always go ask Lucky about it, IIRC correctly, he read all of Preacher already.
I couldn’t make it through Lucifer, even in trades, I loved Sandman but that just left me cold. Sandman Mystery Theatre is great, really fun 40’s noir detective stories (that ultimately tie into Starman) It’s not really a companion piece to the Vertigo Sandman book, in fact it only directly crosses over with that book once. It’s very good though.
