Is Walt Disney developing a “Lost” ride?
This may be “Lost’s” final season, but that doesn’t mean ABC’s parent company Walt Disney is giving up on the franchise. According to Movieline, a source within the Mouse House says a “Lost” ride is one of several attractions being workshopped at Walt Disney Imagineering for placement at one of the studio’s theme parks.
According to the report, the "Lost " attraction would be a motion-based dark ride featuring Kuka arm technology, a more mobile innovation that Universal is using for its own “Harry Potter” theme park. Kuka currently sits two riders and moves them through the air while they are covered with a projection screen similar to Epcot Center’s “Mission: SPACE.” No word on what storyline would be used or if cast members would be involved in the ride.
Walt Disney World’s Disney’s Hollywood Studios could use a high profile attraction like the “Lost” ride to attract more visitors, but its unclear whether such an attraction would be more appropriate to Disneyland or the ever-retooled California Adventure on the West Coast.
