That was hilarious. The Bonta Eve line had me rolling.
Good point. I’m all set, just in case.
not the Yuenglings, i love that lager! yay, America’s oldest brewery! that joke plays to kind of a narrow audience though, doesn’t it? i mean, you can’t really find Yuengers outside PA and the states that border it. that’s part of why i moved back to Jersey, although truth be told, pork roll had a lot more to do with it.
True enough. But there are plenty of PA folks (and heavy drinkers :p) here…

mmm, Taylor Pork Roll
Although, truth be told, I’m more a Sabrett fan.
Seriously, right?! That’s what I was thinking. I’m jealous of her pretty blue eyes. Mine are blue/grey/green depending on the weather/my shirt color/how evil my mood is. It’s annoying. And they’re certainly not big and wide with long lashes like hers. Curse it all!
Seriously? I never knew that. I love Yuengling too. It’s the best kind to make beer bread with.

Dude, that is NOT a reason to move back to Jersey. You could have picked one of the much nicer “border” states.
We could get it back in DC, but not elsewhere, even Ohio. I guess its pretty much a Mid-Atlantic phenomenon. Funny 'toon by the way.
The other brand I grew up on but was surprised wasn’t national was Utz potato chips. No other chips really compare. The Old Bay flavor is da bomb…
You know, I also thought Yuengling was a northeast-only regional brewery, but Wikipedia says it’s the 6th largest brewery in America by production volume, with a second brewery in Florida.
I haven’t been able to find any since I moved away from NY. But I’m not complaining, since the Pacific Northwest seem to have excellent microbrew as well.
Dude, RMHPH and I grew up where Utz potato chips are made! They only ship them within 24 hours, I think. I believe I was able to buy them a few places in GA when I lived there. (Tastykakes on the other hand, had to be $$$pecial-ordered through the company.) I can remember touring the plant where they make Utz chips with my girl scout troop waaaaaay back when. I always loved Utz, but recently they taste different to me, as do most chips. I think the switch to no trans-fats has changed the taste while making them more healthy. Guess I’ll just have to use more onion dip.
Tasting them while they’re still warm from the factory is downright amazing. We used to “smuggle” them to my grandparents in New Jersey before they shipped out of state. As more and more family tasted them, we ended up taking larger and larger “shipments” each time we visited, until we were bringing five or six 5-pound cans on every trip. I like to think that we helped in some small part to broaden their shipping radius.
Hear, hear. 3 cheers for onion dip! And for the cardiac surgeons that clean out our arteries!
apparently i have an incredibly powerful “Force Thread Drift” ability. i would really have preferred the Jedi Mind Trick, but i guess i have to keep working on that one.
Tastycakes, yuengling, pierogies…you guys are making me miss PA for real!
Not to mention Utz, Shencks & Birch beer!
OMG, yes! I remember doing that with Girl Scouts and with school trips.
Utz arrived here in New England relatively recently, & I love their distinctive varieties, including the Old Bay. Utz reminds me of Humpty-Dumpty brand chips out of Maine. Among others, they have Heinz Catchup, Dill Pickle, and even Clam Dip flavors. (Don’t knock the clam dip, they smell just like fresh fried clams from the beach)
Speaking of chips, did anyone else get to try the first mystery “Black Bag” burger flavored Doritos last year? They tasted exactly like a Big Mac.
"Catchup? Really? In New England? wtf?
Now that’s one geeky cat!

I’d keep an eye on that one on the right…
