I’ve been listening to this series through Audible for the past several months, and I’m currently on Mirror Dance (though haven’t listened to Ethan of Athos, Labyrinth, or Borders of Infinity yet.) I’m really enjoying it. It’s science fiction that balances political intrigue and military action pretty well at this point (though I’m given to understand that it shifts more to the political stuff after this book due to things that happen to the main character, a manic-depressive hyperintelligent hunchbacked dwarf with a gift for trouble), has great characters, a good sense of humor, and a lot of heart. Rumor has it that the first book, Shards of Honor, started life as a Star Trek fanfic and it kind of shows, though it takes on a life of its own pretty quickly.
