I had no idea this was happening. It’s directed by Mark Romanek who wrote and directed One Hour Photo. I think that the tone of One Hour Photo would lend itself well to the world of Locke & Key. It’s also got Steven Spielberg as an Executive Producer. Not sure how much Spielberg is involved with this project, I think his focus would have been on Cowboys & Aliens.
I’m really enjoying the books from Joe Hill and I hope the show does it some justice.
I’ve heard lots of good things about Locke and Key (high praise like, if you aren’t reading Locke and Key you arent reading comics) but have never got around to reading it. Would definately be interested in seeing this.
Damn. It doesn’t like the pilot was picked up http://screenrant.com/locke-key-pilot-comic-con-idw-mcrid-120858/ . Such a pity, after the Walking Dead hit it outa the park it would have been nice to have another comic book tv adaption.
I heard it was received well, but wasn’t picked up because it didn’t ‘fit’ the lineup. Hopefully, someone else will give it a go.
It is rumored that the pilot will be shown at ComiCon by the writer as a present to the fans of the comic.
Hope they can shop it around and get a full story done. I’m not surprised Fox would pass on it, but I’m sure another station would be interested in a Spielberg produced horror series. Maybe if there’s enough buzz coming out of SDCC.
