Life is teh suck today because (a.ka. the official B_tch & Moan thread)

See, I thot you were joking about shipping them. Can you even ship such things and would they survive? If the answer is yes and yes, and you were serious, I would be more than happy to do it, but I doubt they would survive the trip. Happily, I have found a solution to my problem: my mom wants them for her garden, so I have been bottling them up with some orange peels so that I can bring them over to her. The little bastards still have the full run of the house though. Armado’s suggestion of sealing their fate in a cloud of atomic fire is now off the table. My inner combat engineer is weeping…

On why life is the suck today… a little bit more serious than my previous post…

As a few of ya might know, I have a TBI. Through some various techniques I have found, it’s not so bad, and college is actually helping me focus, but I took two hard spills in the last few days…

Holy craap! I used to be able to handle this kind of stuff, no problem, but now… the slightest rattling of my brain and I am throwing up on the ground. Ugghhh. I feel like such a wimp…

I haven’t been able to sleep like a normal person in weeks. I guess if I’m gonna be up all night, I might as well do a little homework.

I can say for certain he is not a Vampire. He’s never at the meetings and he dosent pay union dues. I rarely leave the house when the sun is up. I’ve worked midnights for over 11 years. I cant gat my mail without sunblock and dark glasses.

They like to eat aphids, so they are the green alternative to insecticides. A few years ago, my neighbor ordered 10,000 ladybugs for her roses. I think that 9999 of them ended up in my yard. They did a good job on the aphids, though.

So yesterday Elena’s day care called to ask us to pick her up because she was running a fever. I took the day off work today to take her to the doctor and it turns out she just has a cold. No big deal. But my department chair asked me to call him this afternoon so he could give me my schedule for next year. He’s offered me ONE MOTERFRAKKING CLASS for sure, with maybe a second if there’s overflow. I had three classes (two full year and one that only met in the fall) this year and we were practically starving until my wife started temping last month. I told him and everyone else in the department that I needed three and three in order to even begin to make ends meet next year. Instead, they not only pass me over for a full time gig AGAIN (in favor of someone who’s a good friend, but, no offense, is able to play the game better because he lives nearby and is able to be visible, whereas I have a long commute and two children and am therefore not always available for any little thing).

I have half a mind to just quit and tell them to stick their one class where the sun don’t shine, but I need to find a new job first (good luck, right?). Just when I thought things were starting to look up.

Ahh you are a Rimmer…you are a smeee heee

It has been raining here pretty much non stop for 36 hours. I dont mind the rain but it makes pot holes invisible. Those cause flat tires which are not fun to change in the rain. Lucky the tire place i use gives good warranties

I think it’s the entire East Coast.

The rain is making my allergies go even crazier than normal, which in turn makes me lose my appetite and then I’m hungry which makes me more grumpy.

Plus people are being stupid, and I don’t abide by stupidity.

I hope the sun comes out soon.

I found out today that my workplace (which pays me well enough and lets me listen to 30+ hours of podcasts a week) will be closing in October. Very little liklyhood of me getting a job elsewhere in the system. And I had to hear it from my mother who saw it on the news (and she’s clueless about how things work)
So, I need to figure out if we can keep our stuff (like, house) and if I need to start removing podcasts from my rotation.

Yikes, GD. So sorry to hear that.

Good luck Gwensdad.

So much rain and still such a high fire index.

Bummer about the tire.

It only rained in the afternoon here, but I was working on an aquarium project in my engineering class. Not only did we get to go between the greenhouse and the shop in the rain, but there were hoses and pumps sending water all over the place in the greenhouse. After 4 hours, my socks, shoes, and jeans were completely soaked.

See thats the problem with wearing pants…if you were to embrace the pantsless revolution that would not happen

We are acually out of the red flag warning…just flash flood and tornado warnings

Lost the pants the second I walked into my apartment. The engineering department frowns on pantslessness for some reason. Go figure

Oh no! My thoughts are with you!

I get it - friends being made redundant. I am so grateful I got a job in these crazy times.

It’s a common feeling around these parts too.

I’m home after struggling through a two day meeting for work. Feel shocking!

There is a major campaign happening in Victoria at the moment to try to get people to take their annual leave. No one wants to take sick days or leave or anything at all as they all want to be seen to be the ones going the extra mile.

Yes they do eat aphids, but not all species. Some attack plants.

You’re being very patient Armando, try and hold in there until that new job arrives.

That totally sucks Gwensdad - sending you good vibes

I’m very sorry to hear of loss of your friend.

I very sorry to hear about your friend passing.

Seveal years ago, a fantastic teacher of mine was killed in a car accident. He had kept me going in school when I though about giving up. I wish I could offer something more than a virtual hug, but my thoughts are with you.
