Lawrence of Arabia 8/31 @ 8PM ET

Well, that it for me guys.
Good night.

The omen of the motorcycle followed by the dirty windshield representing his corrupted and dirty soul in contrast to the beginning of the film. Maybe he found peace, finally before he died. Or maybe he was still nuts driving so fast. Who knows?

Good night, NBT. Iā€™ve gotta go sleepy also.

Wow. Vulcan epic. Very engrossing, even for being so insanely grand in scale. One wonders how different the world would be today if not for Lawrenceā€¦

Iā€™d say it was more a heapinā€™ helpinā€™ oā€™ guilt, along with the rigors of trying to adjust back to ā€œpolite societyā€ after ā€œgoing nativeā€, not to mention the sobering realization of what heā€™d actually managed to accomplish. :frowning:

Yep, me too. Gā€™night all!

I donā€™t know. Arabia has been filled with war since Eden. Not much has changed.

The dream of a united Arabia was little but a dream before this point in history, as was the concept of nation-states among basically nomadic peoples. The artificial subdivisions put in place by Western meddling have caused so much strife in the region. The only way to stabilize those new countries was the installation of despotic puppet regimes and the removal of leaders who wouldnā€™t ā€œplay ballā€, like good King Feisal thereā€¦
