I was going to be putting a sprinkler system in my house and I was thinking of controlling it through a parrallel port on a crap computer. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas along with this.

Here is what I have so far.

I was thinking of using a logmein type of thing where I could control it remotely. I would love to just have it be a webpage but hey i can’t have everything. The part i was wondering is temp sensor and rain gauge how to interface.
I figured my peops on here would also inspire me to do different things with it or add to what I have.

Add a web cam, so you can see if the kids are on your lawn and sprinkle accordingly.

I did want to eventually do that with motion sensors
I thought it would be cool but I didnt see a good way of tying them into the computer.

This will just encourage the little frakkers. Who doesn’t like running through sprinklers?
