Kotor

Okay, I have asked this before, but will ask again. I am a huge fan of the Knights of the Old Republic games on the Xbox (seriously, check them out as you can pick them up for under 20$ now)(made by the same people that made Mass Effect)). Do any of the comics explore the time around Darth Revan and Malak, aka, the mandalorian wars? If they do, I would definitely check them out……

Yes, they do. Having not played the game – ok, I hooked up my old Xbox and just started, but the games are definitely showing their age – I had to look online to figure out the significance of some of the characters. It’s funny… I ended up checking out the game because of the comics!

I love the games, well the first one mostly. I’ve been dying to replay them but I’ve been holding out until The Sith Lords restoration is finished. I want a sequel gods damn it (and not an MMORPG)

I’m way behind on my SW comics. In addition to KOTOR you should check out Tales of the Jedi. These books are what the KOTOR game was based on. The old republic era was my fav. era and I was stoked when they made KOTOR. You should defiantly check out the books if you liked the game.

One thing that’s fun about the new KOTR is that it features the type of art that Dark Horse is so famous for – really great stuff. The DH/KOTR story is pretty entertaining as well.

KOTOR is my all time FAV, weather its the first or the second
Can’t wiat for the next Star wars game, Unleasehed !!!
OMG

Both were great games, Have;nt jumped on the whole Mass Effect boat yet, in time. I like my Call of Duty 4

It’s funny, it’s always a star wars game that gets me to crack and buy the latest console. I really want to play Unleashed, but I don’t if I can afford the high price of an X-box or PS3.

I think I’d want the Wii version myself. I haven’t reseached it completely, but any game that lets me use the wii remote as a lightsaber has got to be worth a look. I’ll let one of my friends buy it first and if it’s good I’ll invest in a Wii

Wii version for SURE.

I’d connect my old school “tube” light saber on the end just to feel Cool-ER

i have said it before and i will say it forever…the first KOTOR might just be the best RPG i ever played…and ranks easily in the top star wars stories, movies included .

damn, but that story was tight to the extreme

I assume you are talking about the game. I have to agree you on that. By far more superior than Ep. 1&2. and about equel to Ep.3.

I must submit to an agreence

I loved both of them. KOTOR 1 was the best regarding completeness and it was relatively bug free. The second one… well, it had a better story (IMHO), but it had way too many bugs.

I like that era much better than the Ep. 1 - Ep. 6 arc. Return of the Jedi would have been excellent if they hadn’t added the Ewoks. I bought Battlefront for the express purpose of shooting those little frakkers.

Kotor 2 could have been so great…it came so close

the characters are great and the system is more fun…but god…it is basically an incomplete game…with sooooo many bugs…grrrrrr

I know, the system was awesome compared to the original. I so wanted the HK-47 missions they were going to add. It bugged me how the HK assassins plot crapped out by the end of the game.

Any1 play the Sith Restoration mod pack yet ???
Its for Kotor 1.
Check youtube for a trailer

Sound cool.

I have an old PC that can’t run the PC versions. I’ll to check it out whenever I get my next PC.

I picked up a bunch of kotor comics. I’ve just read the first few but seems good so far. the bumbling crap jedi is fun, it really does remind me of the first game in its tone and storytelling. will comment more when i get further in.

I loved KOTOR. My colleague and I were talking about it today. Nearly everyone who plays that game goes on to finish it, and the two big reveals ( who you are and why Darth Malak wears the metallic chin-wig ) just ooze Empire Strikes Back.

KOTOR 2 was a real disappointment by comparison, having all the charm of a prematurely cancelled TV show. I’m presently playing Mass Effect, and am enjoying it a great deal so far. Sure, it ain’t Star Wars, but it’s got some lovely Sci-Fi in it’s innards.
