PS I’m stilll affirmed that KITT is a Cylon. In a later scene where they attempt to defuse a self-destruct bomb within KITT - an effort that includes lobotomizing KITT of his data files - KITT protests that all of his being would be reduced to a set of data files and he would not agree to it. And KITT agrees to it later only when Mike and Sarah agree to take good care of him.
