Kirk VS. Mirror Kirk

The ultimate Doppelgänger match-up pitting the greatest starship captain from both universes against each other. For this case, let’s remove starship crews and resources placing them in an arena forced to battle mano-a-mano. Who would stand victorious?

Mirror Kirk has the advantage of having to defend himself against plots, schemes, and assassination on a daily basis. His universe creates a keen survival instinct.

Since Kirk has risen to his position using his skill and intellect, as opposed to Mirror Kirk’s Tantalus field, he has the advantage of wit.

Both are without their crew, who will handle themselves against an adversary all alone?

Well, not exactly. There wouldn’t be all them potential-for-Weapons-of-Gorn-Destruction mineral deposits laying around.

Do you mean Mirror-Kirk as he was depicted on the show (paranoid & slightly crazy) or as he really would have been (shrewd & ruthless)? Mirror-Kirk was found out on “our” Enterprise way too easily, IMO. He never would have reached, much less maintained, the level of captain in his world if he was that, for lack of a better word, “hysterical” (with apologies to Casilda :p).

In my view, Kirk and Mirror-Kirk would have been basically equals, but Mirror-Kirk would be a far more brutal fighter. “Our” Kirk would undoubtedly have a momentary twinge of compassion when facing off against him, which would be fatal in such combat.

I’d have to go with Kirk, by a thread. While Mirror-Kirk would be brutal…he doesn’t strike me as a calculated risk taker as Kirk. Again - it’d be very close…but i think Kirk would win.

…unless Mirror Kirk has the Tantalus Field…then frak it…game over

That’s a good question.
The ‘good’ Kirk, without the advantage of a loyal crew, would be evenly matched against his parallel counterpart. In one on one combat, both would fight viciously to the death. Unlike the ‘good’ Kirk against ‘the enemy within’, stripped of his primal instinct, the ‘good’ Kirk would be like a lamb to the slaughter.
I’d also like to see Kirk in Janice Lester’s body vs. Janice Lester in Kirk’s body. Cat Fight!
Of course it would have to be in an ‘Arena’ type situation where he would stand a chance against his own strength (and he wasn’t too preocupied with his life long ambition).

I chose stalwart Kirk over Mirror Kirk (though I liked the sleeveless look).
Whereas Mirror Kirk was ruthless and brutal, our Federation Kirk seemed more cunning.
