Reading this thread reminds me again how awesome BSG was! Sigh, I miss the anticipation of waiting (sometimes for months on end) for a new episode. 
Argh, I’m in Canada and can’t view the syfy link. Does anybody know of a workaround?

Welcome aboard. As far as confusion, you’re not alone. I had a discussion with a friend who just finished watching the whole series. He said, “I thot all would be revealed.” I explained that they couldn’t possibly answer all our questions, it was a promotion. He didn’t like that. Personally, I like that they left some questions unanswered especially the stuff about Kobol and Erf. The mystery is most of the fun, your imagination can go to those places and bask in wonder.
Then there are the perspectives of those involved in the events, the human perspective, the Cylon, and the audience. For any event, we all experience something different. There is no one answer, respecting the audience’s intelligence. Even the info-dump episode, where Ellen is revealed as the Final Cylon. We get everything from Ellen’s perspective. How do we know that is the truth? What is the truth? See what I mean? Anders, Tory, Galen, and even Saul may have had different opinions about those events. It leaves everything open to interpretation.
