Indeed, I believe those are turbo fans and not jet engines… Ironically it looks remarkably like what they built on ‘Mythbusters’ not too long ago.
30 minutes is a nice jump from the old 29 seconds of the old jetpack, but still far short from being able to commute to work in any practical sense. And who has 85,000 dollars lying around to buy one in this economy?
In ten years they may be only 25,000 dollars and have a greater cruising range, I’ll get one then.
Very cool - but I’m holding out for the scuba tank/daypack size I’ve been dreaming about since I was a kid - ala Billy Campbell in Rocketeer.
