Wizards

Wizards
VS Jedi
I would have to go with the Jedi because a wizard is not very effective without a wand. A Jedi doesn’t even need a lightsaber to defend himself, but it does help. Also the powers of the force are not show to there full effect in the movies. But wizards are cool in their own right. Long live the Jedi.
And may the Force be with you all.
Wizards in the Harry Potter 'verse channel their magic through their wands. But this is not true for all Wizards that show up in stories/movies, etc. Magic is an innate ability Wizards are born with not a symbiotic relationship with miticholor (can’t frakkin spell it!)…bacteria that Jedi have to learn to use.
I had to choose Jedi because if they were so inclined, they can take over the minds of others and basically turn them into mindless servants. Joruus C’Both from the Thrawn trilogy comes to mind.
I need a clarification of what wizards you are referring to. HP wizards? D&D Wizards? Final Fantasy Wizards? Everquest Wizards? Will your “wizards” include mages? Elemental Wizards? Techno-mages? Which wizards?!?!?!
Since I didn’t really specify what type of Wizards, I’ll leave it open to any type of wizard.
Maybe a better deathmatch would be the Force vs. Magic, because with Jedi vs Wizard, you only can focus on the good Jedi. Bring in the Sith and its a more complete ball game.
Jedi dont need to use incantations to do their powers. Also the Jedi are bad sorryBarb without force powers cause they can use a Lightsaber.
Jedi - cuz they can fight…
as opposed to wizards who have to wave a wand and say “e rectal probem” or soemthing…
Laugh while you can. And hope you’re never the victim of a “rectal problem” spell…
I dunno what wizards you are dealing with, but those Harry Potter pu-sorryBarb’s are nothin! Battlemages are srs bizness!
Agreed. Based on the sheer variety, I have to go with wizards. Fistandantilus/Raistlin would have Yoda’s ears for breakfast, with a bitter tea chaser.
If wizards includes Technomages then I am voting for Galen to kick Obi-Wan’s @ss. He can implode one of the those bubbles on the light saber, and game over.
Going with Wizards.
While Jedi are adept at controlling their physical word, with force jumping, pushing and pulling, etc., Wizards have the entire supernatural world to call on as well. A Jedi’s weapons are formidable (saber, lightning, moving objects). But you’re talking about an opponent that could conjure a dozen fully grown dragons, bend space-time, or turn you into a frakking newt!
As for the Jedi mind trick, I’m quite sure it wouldn’t work on a lot of wizards…it’s for the weak-minded, after all. It didn’t work on Watto, or Jabba, to name a couple right off the bat. I don’t see even, say, Dumbledore being prone to mind control.

I CANT DECIDE, BRAIN ANEURYSM!
Incantations are fun, and as an HP-wizard you can wear a black cloak without necessarily being on the Dark Side.
I have to agree, you have to pick your type of wizard to even make a distinction. Also, many of the thing we attribute to Jedi are seen in various wizards in various books. There is also the question of innate magic vs learned magic. And never forget the Force Witches of Dathomir, who basically interpreted their force powers as magic…
