I've made a grave mistake

Yeah, I kinda bought the entire series of Firefly off itunes and I’m loving every minute of it, except I know in eight episodes time it’s all gonna be over and that’s all therell ever be. I bought the series because people are always talking about how good it is (looking at you Audra, Chuck and Sean) and now I know what they’re on about. (pessimistic view)

Still I guess having eight new episodes of Firefly is what a lot of people out there would like to have (optimistic)

Ship sale

if u want more go buy the new Serenity dvd, if it sells enough theyll make a sequel.

yeah I was gonna ask about that, I was pretty sure it was to do with firefly but I didnt want to go buy it and find out its about mutant pigs in the german forests…not again.

Serenity is one of the best SF movies EVER. Better than the Holy Trilogy (SW 4,5,6).

Personally I love the one by Jet Li. I could watch that film over and over again (and i have).

Ranchero

You might be waiting for a sequel a long time though. Easiest thing would be to just get hooked on a new series with a nice DVD backlog. HBO and Showtime have some great series… are you looking for straight up scifi or what?

Oh, the bittersweet story of Firefly. Well, I was absolutely depressed after I saw Serenity and found out that Firefly was out there and had been canned. I guess we should look at it from the perspective of being thankful that it got a conclusion at all. I think it may be a few years, but every movie gets a sequel eventually.

Weirdly, it was BSG that opened me up to FF. There were so many frakers bemoaning the fate of Firefly that I had to check it out. Lo and behold, it was good. I then bought the DVD (objects in space sold me. I needed to have that episode onhand at all times.)

Then they did a movie. And then they killed… where are the spoiler tags?! Frak it. If you’ve seen it, you know who I mean. (Billy redux. Wink.) Bastards. (Good movie, I have to admit.)

Um, I don’t think so. It was enjoyable enough, sure, but “one of the best SF movies ever.” The toasters are fraking with your brain!

Agree with you there Pike. Objects in space is probably one of the best episodes of “tv” that I’ve ever seen. Story, acting, cinematography… genius. A real work of art. That and “Out of Gas” are reasons enough to buy the DVD set.

I just got the first disc of season 1 of firefly -somehow i totally missed this show. Is there just the one season?? How many episodes? I don’t want to rush thru it if there are only a few.
Wash bought it in the crash landing at the compound of Mister Universe.
There, done.

Stevie,

The short answer is that there are 14 episodes and one movie. Take them slow and enjoy them if you can. However, I can tell you from experience they never get old and can viewed a thousand times and still be entertaining, heart wrenching and funny. In fact, they only get better.

I would challenge you to take them slow, but in truth, it is impossible. You will want to watch more and at a certain point you will realize there is only so much left, and this will make you a little depressed.

…at that point, you can consider yourself a Browncoat. Welcome to the 'verse my friend.

Solai, I don’t think I could have put it better than that.

Here here! I too couldn’t agree more! Well said! Stay Shiney!

That wasn’t hard to do, Steve. Fox totally frakked Joss, the show, the audience. I was looking for it–knew it was coming and was eagerly anticipating it, yet I missed several of the eps that actually made it to air. (This was before I got Tivo.)

Point is, if Fox had actually given a crap, we might be here bemoaning the wait for the new Firefly season as well.

The first time is the best time.

There’s always room for a new browncoat.

TV big wigs might not see it. but that doesn’t mean we can’t think about it talk about, and continue it in our own way.

Chat about it on boards, write a story, make a fan vid, go to a convention.

This is making me want to rewatch my firefly dvd’s. so i will,
