That’s perfect!
I was an Eagle Scout, and regularly walk into the woods carrying everything I hope I need on my back. And I can almost quote the whole Blues Brothers movie (but I suck as singing…).
On something of a whim, I rented the mini-series sometime during the 2nd session.
It blow me away. It was the most amazing thing I’d seen on TV in as long as I could remember. So I tracked down season 1. I don’t think I need to tell you that it was awesome.
I found GWC soon after I got an iPod. I was looking around for some casts on various topics I was interested in. Most were terribly uninteresting. Usually some guy pontificating at you. But this BSG cast I found had three people chatting with each other in friendly fashion. They’d crack jokes, go on tangents, and generally be intelligent and self-deprecating at the same time. Each cast was a lovely conversation between friends.
It took me a little while to make my way to the forums. But here I did find, just as advertised, a friendly and fun place to hang out. You can say the most ridiculous thing and people take it at least somewhat seriously. Everybody’s an adult.
Bonus points for topicality!
I was looking for a appropriate thread to post this video; which relates my feelings for the end of BSG; then I found Cody’s heart-rendering starting-thread on this one…
“Heart-rendering”
Is that a good thing?:o
Today in class, we had a speaker talking about how to talk to students and deal with Gay and Lesbian issues in a school system. After the talk I spent a few minutes talking about different issues and somehow the topic of BSG came up and how they delt with the Gay and Lesbian characters on the show. As I was talking to him about the show, I realized that I started choking up because the show was over and thinking about all of the people I met on this board.
Let me just say that I’m proud to talk to anyone about how great the show and the forum are.
Well, here it is almost 3wks since the finale, and it’s only now that I really feel like posting on the BSG threads.
So in reply to your opening post Cody, (better late than never)
So say we all.
Thank you.
