Is "The Colony" really our Earth?

In No Exit Cavil tells Ellen that the Colonials knew of about the Hub but not the colony where the Five have all the tech stored to build a new Hub. Could this be “our” Earth?

Will this be the site of a final showdown between the Colonial Fleet and Cavil’s forces? My mind is just reeling with what’s going to happen in these final episodes given the reveals of No Exit.

That’s sort of what I was thinking. Either the colony was the cylon home world near the 12 colonies, or it was our earth.

I suspect Earth is our Earth and Earth is a waste land. In my head I keep going back to Grand Pa Goo in Razor. He references the promised land, he does not say Earth. The same is true in the Book of Pythia, it mentions the dying leader will lead humanity to the promised land. I don’t recall Earth and promised land being used in the same sentence.

I’m more inclined to think the colony that Cavil and Ellen refer to might be the promised land and it is something different than what has been expanded upon so far in the series.

We still have to get to that verdent green planet with Florida and the Gulf of Mexico, shown to us at the end of Season 3.

And what of Starbuck’s description of Earth? Was it just a vision?

i suppose that is true but i’m not betting the farm on it  then again when it comes to BSG i’m not betting on anything.

Assuming that was not a vision and assuming her memory is of the planet she landed on… I’d say thats Earth and I’d say its one big charred mess including the original Starbuck and her viper.

I honestly don’t think we ever will. I think that was just so that we would know that planet was supposed to be earth.

I’ll bet you one bar of gold plated latinum that we see our Earth again - one way or the other. Most likely in a “hokey smokes Bullwinkle” really big time moment.

Dude you are on!!!

I think you are right. We will see our Earth again. I think this is where the show is really going to.

Well, given my track record, time for me to search out any Ferengi that relocated to New Orleans after Katrina to make a quick buck.

i think that ellen’s colony might be the earth we saw in revelations that was nuked, and that a real earth, our earth, is still out there somewhere.
of course there is alot that would go against this… the Final Four’s visions from sometimes a great notion… but maybe. maybe those visions were things that did not occur on that rock, but rather on the real earth, the promised land.

I agree fully. That Earth will be the scene of a great battle against the Cavil forces and Galactica goes out in a great blaze of glory to save the remainder of the fleet.

There has to be another Earth. Nothing was found on Erf that could rebuild a Starbuck and her Viper. We still need to know that, plus:

How did Starbuck get from the gas giant to Earth?
Who and how was she rebuilt?
How did her body and Viper get to Erf?
How did Starbuck 2.0 find the fleet at the end of Season 3?

Agreed… except I think the Fleet will be destroyed, stranding the Colonials on Earth without FTL to start a new Cycle (or break it, I guess.)

Since I’m not buying any of the mystical explainations, I’m thinking:

1 and 3) Wormhole: I can’t think of any other “scifi” way for Starbuck 1.0 to get to Erf.
2) Cavil: she downloaded and he tampered with her memories, and sent her back to the Fleet, like the FF were.
4) Cavil is the only one I can think of that has the tech, besides the Colonials, to manufacture a Viper… actually, he would only have to rebuild a captured one, I think… I think it’s important to remember that this is the 2nd Cylon war, and Starbuck’s Viper is an old model from the previous war, anyway… Cavil could have had a spankin’ new viper sitting in storage for the last 40 years, repainted it, and sent her on her way.

But the implications are huge, if this theory is correct. The Colonials didn’t discover the way to Erf… Cavil led them to Erf. Which means he hasn’t been “chasing” them, he’s always been able to track the Fleet since they left Caprica-- that he knew where to send Kara back is proof of that.

If this is correct, of course.

I have a thought. The finale 2 hour finale will end the current cycle. The Gallactica will be destroyed taking out Cavil and his cronies. The humans and Cylons will all be stranded on a new world that has nothing to do with Ellen. We will see a flash forward to a scene or two of our world, present day. The finale revelation will be, we are the descendants and a voice or possibly some words will appear saying thus,

("There are those who believe that life here began out there, far across the universe, with tribes of humans who may have been the forefathers of the Egyptians, or the Toltec’s, or the Mayans. That they may have been the architects of the great pyramids, or the lost civilizations of Lemuria or Atlantis. Some believe that there may yet be brothers of man who even now fight to survive somewhere beyond the heavens…” BSG 1979)
