The international connection is starting to be quite huge. Next year we will need the whole hotel for ourself and maybe a stage for the live podcast.
This will be the biggest event of the year in Texas. Forget about that little football squermish GWC fan are coming!

I have classes on Friday, and with my luck I’ll have a test in my afternoon class which would put me into Dallas late. After all of the snow days, I have no idea what’s going on in any of my classes.
Looking forward to going this year, something came up last year and i couldn’t make it.
There will be several attendees with rental cars, so don’t worry about that. I don’t think there is a shuttle to the hotel and taxi too expensive. Raemani will set you up with a pickup from/to airport. After that everyone just piles into a car to get to events. Chuck will be posting for RSVPs for events and you’ll get a .PDF file with the schedule.

Okay I think I have lived in the Bay Area too long… when the idea of there not even being a shuttle crossed my mind! I guess I assumed they would have shared pickup vans that are way cheaper than taxis.

Most of the hotels near the airport do, but the meetup hotel is like 25 miles northeast of the airport.

same here. I technically can’t get “approved” time off, so I arrange for a sub on the d/l and call in sick each day. the fun part is on the third consecutive sick day, I have to be prepared to present a Dr’s note. :eek:

Plane ticket bought, and rental arranged for (I decided to drive this year and brave the toll roads and crazy u-turn lanes, however I will have my someone trusty GPS, so I hopefully won’t end up in Fort Worth like the first time I was there ).
I guess I better start getting back to everyone that PM’d me and make sure I have a room to stay in (I didn’t book a room cause I figure there are always seem to be people looking for roomies)

rae make sure u pay the $10 or so for the electronic toll pass(cant remeber its name(but never havin 2 stop for tolls)), its SUPER worth it…

If you rent from Hertz they have PlatePass to handle the tolls and tolls are directly charged to the credit card you use to rent the car. It comes with every rental in TX…no extra charge. 
Nice, glad I rented from Hertz then. I no like the tollways, they make me angry.
We should see if we could get a group discount if we all rent from them next year.
Hotel worked out as well. Good thing my boss approved the vacation.
