Is anyone else watching Sons of Anarchy?

I only recently learned that exec producer/creator/writer Kurt Sutter is a a veteran of The Shield, one of my all-time favorites. Had I known, I’d have tuned in sooner.

I avoided season one. Looked like it was too transparent a bid to be the next Sopranos – you know, family drama unfolding with a background of illegal lifestyle (in this case, outlaw biker gang that runs drugs [but is season 2, makes strides toward going legit by exploring the porn industry).

And I heard season 1 was uneven.

But season 2 had a great buzz, so I checked it out. And now I’m hooked. It totally is the new Sopranos.

If you’re inclined to check out SOA, wait until three weeks into next season, and catch up on the DVDs. The season finale is a motherfrakker. Waiting for 9-10 months ain’t gonna be fun.

I borrowed all the seasons of ‘The Shield’ from a friend. I tore through them in about a month. Same friend said, “You gotta check out Sons of Anarchy.” I was like, “Bikers. Mob family. Meh.” I was wrong.

What a great show! I did not see the first season but I watched every episode of the second season and it was amazing. The whole cast is top-notch.

Thats how I felt when I saw the trailers for season 1. Sounds like it might be worth checking out.

Bro you’re talking to BSG fans. We waited what? A year and a half for 10 episodes then another year for the last 10? BSG: 4 seasons, only took them 6 years

When i first heard of SoA i heard it described as being based on Hamlet but in a biker gang (ahem…club). I got really stoked and started watching the first couple episodes and really loved them. Then i got distracted with buying a house and moving and i was never able to catch up. Then i heard Default Prophet talking about how awesome season 2 was so i went and finished up season 1 and caught up in season 2. Holy crap it is good. I really love the shows that show both the good and bad sides of everyone. That’s one of he reasons i love The Wire so much is that it shows the true natures of people.

And the season 2 finale…Holy crap that was jaw dropping. I would put that in the top 10 (probably top 5) of cliffhangers (it might slip a little because it is very similar to the season 1 cliffhanger of LOST)

Bump. Season 3 premier tonight. The show may well be better than the last four seasons of The Sopranos. More enjoyable, certainly, I think.

I DVR. Will probably watch after Trek Tuesday.
