iPhone Help

I replaced the glass and digitizer on my sister’s iPhone 3G. When I was finished, the home button didn’t work anymore. I didn’t try to fix it or figure out what was wrong with it at the time because I had scratched her LCD and was going to have to work on the phone again anyways. Now the phone won’t turn on. When attached to a cable to charge, nothing happens. When plugged into a computer, iTunes does not recognize it. Help!

How long b/t the Home button going dead and the other problems?

The Home button wasn’t working after I replaced the glass/digitizer. The phone wouldn’t turn on after I replaced the LCD. About a week between.

Obvious question: did you reopen it and see if you missed any connections?

The three ribbons that you unhook to take the two halves apart are securely connected. I’m not familiar with the rest of the innards, but there isn’t a glaringly obvious loose connection that I can find.

OK, I’m flailing at this point. I’ve yet to take one apart, myself. I was hoping that I’d hear something from you that would remind me of something, etc.

I’ve been looking on the internet for a couple of days. I was hoping someone might have a quick fix. To get to the home button, I have to take the digitizer/glass back off. I think it may have slipped out of alignment during the first repair. If I can get the home button fixed, options open up for rebooting the phone. Thanks for trying.
