Odd. Previously he’d do the recording right after the episode wrapped. Since these are all in the can I’d have expected him to have his commentary done already.
Indeed, I guess he was busy or something. I can’t see why he just doesn’t plug a mic into a PC instead of using some fancy recorder that inserts obnoxious beeps every now and then.
Here’s his blog entry from earlier in the week, his latest one just states about his recorder being broken.

He uses his mac to watch the eps., recording at the same time can be problematic.
One of the things that was so great about the live cast was that it made me feel like I was at a national meetup, and given how we haven’t been able to really plan one, this might be as good as it gets. Being on the Pacific side, I like the idea of something less time sensitive, like Solai’s Firefly rewatch idea. We could do a movie that way or even a book club pick. I think we’re all agreed that at GWC topics abound. I voted for more live casts, but given the work involved for the crue, less is probably more.
just to let everyone know emily has planned for the third talkshoe meet up next saturday at 1 p.m. e.d.t. I for sure loved the first two and you can listen to them on talkshoe also… You should check it out if you haven’t guys.
Depending upon work scheduling, I might actually make it for the third one. The second one was problematic as I was out in the Caribbean trying to get back to Vegas.
Awesome you should listen to the second it was pretty funny. Looking forward to the third!
Funny! I was in Vegas!
Hope everyone gets to drop in to the gwc talkshoe meetup at 1 p.m. eastern!!!
The “enhanced” podcast has the beeps removed.
I can’t even stay up late enough to watch BSG now, I just tivo it and watch it in the morning so I’ll be sticking to the podcast. I didn’t mind listening to the live version on podcast, but it wasn’t great and (I’m sure) not nearly as enjoyable as participating so I’m echoing the “just for special episodes”
Yeah, but they don’t always get the ‘special’ casts (writers meetings etc) in that feed. I wound up subscribing to both.
I put only sometimes because I thought participation was part of the question. I would like to hear the live podcast and would participate at times. Emily has been trying to get me over my phobia of being recorded. My problem is when I work I get up at 5 a.m. so even if I tried my best I could not commit to any late night chats. I have been known to fall asleep during an episode.
Thank you DVR. I would enjoy listening even if I could not always chat. Maybe you could do one after the Star Wars arc.
Thank you for your hard work.
I am also of the opinion that it shouldn’t be too frequent.
I had an absolute blast even if I wasn’t expecting to talk, but it all ended up fine in the end (I was very afraid I wasn’t making any sense, but on relistening I sounded just fine).
Of course the only thing I remembered from that night (before relistening) was Cheezburger - that that isn’t even on the cast that was released on iTunes.
I think this could be fun especially since these will be the final episodes of the series. Its an opportunity for the collective forum to share their final BSG days… omg that sounds so depressing.
I like once a month, creates more opportunity for everyone to participate given schedules this that and the other thing. That would be what, about 4 or so. Sounds like a good number to me.
This would be awesome whether sporadic or frequent. Only if it is on when I’m awake in Australia of course!
BTW I am now using awesome in nearly every sentence thanks to Chuck - my friends don’t thank him!
My 6 year old nephew has informed his mother & I that “awesome” is no longer a cool word. It is now cool to replace awesome with sweet.
Sweet is cool again? Sweeeet!
I’m still waiting for “bad” to come back into style.
Also, JAMS.
Also, “mint.”
