Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull Trailer Online!

One of the movies I’m the most looking forward to see this year (19 years since the Last Crusade!) The trailer is available on the Indiana Jones and Yahoo! Movies websites both in regular and HD.

I caught it earlier, I can’t wait. This summer is going to have some awesome movies.

gaaaaah!! i’m waiting to watch it in HD and my crappy college connection is taking forver!!

well worth the wait.

i’m very pumped right now.

its going to be pretty sweet Although some of the special effects look like they need to be polished like the driving part. But other than that I’m still excited for it.

I don’t know. The chase around the crates looks fun, but it also looks a lot like the “set” (really a matte painting) at the end of Raiders of the Lost Ark. I hope to God this isn’t the Indy equivalent of “Greedo shot first!”

Still, “Damn, I thought that was closer!” is a perfect little line, true to the spirit of Raiders. This should be fun.

(I can’t believe 1989 was already 19 years ago! I remember seeing “Last Crusade” in the theater, before heading off to music camp for the first time.)

Is it me or does the scenes in the warehouse look like the warehouse that the Ark was put in at the end of Lost Ark?

Did anyone notice “Roswell, NM” stenciled on a crate?

Yep. But who’s glasses are those? Cate didn’t look like she was wearing any. Mismatched scenes, methinks. The glasses looked like Connery’s. Boy, that Carpenter’s cup really did the trick for 'im if true!

Also another little tidbit:

From http://www.dailygrail.com/node/5719:

Will the upcoming Indiana Jones movie tie together the apparently unconnected mysteries of (a) Roswell, and (b) the Crystal Skulls? The movie’s producer, Frank Marshall, may have hinted as much in a recent interview:

Once the archaeologist is thrust back into danger, the signature Indiana Jones red line tracing across the map will take him to New Mexico, Connecticut, Mexico City and the jungles of Peru.

…The artifact of the title is inspired by real quartz sculptures of disputed origins that are carved in a way that defies the natural structure of the crystal.

“The theory is they are shaped by higher powers or alien powers or came from another world, or an ancient Mayan civilization had the powers,” Marshall says.

Hmmm. New Mexico…alien powers…I think I see a connection

WOW! I wasn’t nearly old enough to see Last Crusade in the theater… it’ll be great just to listen to the soundtrack in the theater… just a quick question: hadn’t they originally planned to do a story about Atlantis? I remember something about a story similar to the one in Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis…

Oh yeah. We’ve known that for years now.

 so what’s the story this time? have the Nazis discovered a Stargate?

Oh.

Trailer looks great. I don’t want to know anything, I just just want to be taken on a wild ride since it will be the last for Ford. Maybe Shia will carry on the franchise. Does anyone recall the Young Indiana TV series? It was pretty good.

I do! It was indeed pretty good.

Pike/'talos: I didn’t know that.

I’ve never seen it but I hear lots of great things about it, so I may have to check it out once the money starts flowing again (sometime around 2029, I figure, once my own student loans are paid and my kids are done with college).

I liked one idea that some publication (Entertainment Weekly?) pushed around when this movie was stuck in development hell in the 90s of turning Indiana Jones into another James Bond kind of franchise with different actors stepping into the fedora. I think that would be kind of cool, and young Indy set a presedent for that, no?

I haven’t been around much lately due to school, but I wanted to make sure that you guys saw the trailer. Him swinging with the whip and landing in the truck was very cool. This movie looks like it’s going to be a blast.

Also, it appears the Roswell crate is magnetic.

Well, they’ll have to do that eventually… Ford’s not gonna be around forever and it’ll already be a small miracle if he can pull off the fourth movie in a believable fashion.
Young Indiana Jones looked okay to me back then, but it’s been a while since the show was on (1992?)

Just a guess, but the trailer makes me think that Indy and friends have broken INTO Area 51 to get something…and gotten caught, hence the chase through the warehouse, and the circle of army types with guns trained on them…the trailer’s cut up and switched around, no doubt, but that was my initial feeling…

Been looking forward to this for a long time ! Indy’s back !

And yeah, the whole crystal skull theory has been around since the early sixties, seventies, when all the great psuedo scientific paperbacks like “Chariots of the Gods” came out. And in a weird twist that I just looked up on wiki, this book is also credited with inspiring the TV series…yup you guessed it, Battlestar Galactica !! So now we’ve got a nice Indy/BSG link.
