So. I’m getting back into it. I stopped watching a few years back and I feel the need to get back in.

Episode 1: Enter: Naruto Uzumaki!

Probably the strongest standard length first episode of any show I’ve yet watched. Really draws you in. Sets up the world nicely, some good backstory for Naruto, real emotional string puller in my opinion.

Episode 2: My Name is Konohamaru!

Pretty light episode, weak compared to the first. More indicative of some of the filler episodes and the stereotype of the series as a whole. It’s definitely filler though as it doesn’t move the plot along.

Episode 3: Sasuke and Sakura: Friends or Foes?

Good mix of light and serious. Introduces the other main characters: Sasuke, Sakura, and to a lesser extent Kakashi. I’m finding that the show starts off a bit slower than I remember from last time but while it’s being slow it’s keeping a good deal of quality.

Episode 4: Pass or Fail: Survival Test

Pretty good episode, quality mix of light and serious. Group 7 (Naruto, Sasuke, Sakura) start training with Kakashi and we learn a bit more about how the ninjas do ninja-y things and more about what they can do.

Episode 5: You Failed! Kakashi’s Final Decision

Quality episode, full of ninja-y stuff, suspense, little bit of Kakashi backstory. Awesome music continues to be awesome, including a track reminiscent of 80’s inspirational music. Group 7 getting used to each other, the real backbone of the entire anime.

Episode 6: A Dangerous Mission! Journey to the Land of Waves!

Or: Craaaaaaaap just got real. First mission of Group 7. Escort of an old man. Serious episode with the particular Naruto style of breakin it just after it peaks. Make no mistake, it is a kid’s show but it’s not only for kids. Kinda like a Pixar movie. But with ninjas. And blood. And death.

Episode 7: The Assassin of the Mist!

First real big bad is introduced in Zabuza who is probably my favorite bad guy of all the episodes I watched back when I did. Kakashi shows why he is a bamf. One of my favorite arcs is beginning and I’m remembering why I really loved this show. Can’t wait for the next episode.

Episode 8: The Oath of Pain

Serious episode is serious. Kakashi is a bamf still. But it’s to be expected he’s got Mask Power (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/MaskPower). More importantly Naruto shows his grit and some smarts. Group 7 works better together. Little bit of Zabuza backstory, still a bamf.

Ending theme continues to be awesome imo

Episode 9: Kakashi: Sharingan Warrior!

Mask Power turned to 11 up in here. Though I don’t really need Naruto to give me the play-by-play of what I just saw. Like less than a minute of the fight has been new scenes at like the 5 minute mark. Lol. Did that twice, kinda annoying. Mind games are fun. Real good episode

Episode 10: The Forest of Chakra

Serious episode, full of ninja training and explaining how the ninja world works and chakra and all the other goodies. Sasuke and Naruto have the potential to be the biggest BAMFs around.
