(grumble, grumble…30 more posts to go…thot I’d have more time to work on my post count this week…grumble, grumble…)
That, I would like to see… Galactica destroyed, the Fleet moves on to settle Earth… and here’s Baltar: the smartest guy in the fleet doing manual labor, hoeing a row. Back exactly where he started. I think Baltar needs that kinda comeuppance-- because that kind of humbling awareness might actually change him. My biggest problem with Baltar is not that he wanted to be better than he was (cause I think we all should be doing that), but that he thought the life he decided to leave behind was craaap. He never respected where he came from. Maybe in Daybreak Part Deux we get to see it finally dawn on him.
I think Baltar wanted to cross the Red Line… but I don’t think he will. At this point, crossing means death… and Baltar’s a roach. At this moment, when the whole RTF is in “flight or fight” mode, he’s in flight.
Incidentally, I frakin love Cottle. He crossed on principle… but Adama sent him back, for an equally good reason. That guy can operate on my brain any day.
