And for that matter: would you let John Hodgman do brain surgery on you? Seriously? Naaw, really? Discuss!
Yes cause he’s a PC, and Although Macs are much prettier, PC’s can do more, but I’d make sure he was running on Ubuntu.
This will be an unpopular opinion, but John Hodgeman was the only weak point of this episode. Don’t get me wrong, he’s awesome, but he completely took me out of the episode.
I’m not sure how unpopular it would be… he does take you out of the moment for the time he’s on screen, which most people would dislike-- however, I’m willing to overlook it cause of all the reveals that were happening at the same time.
KMehthas and bigdamnhero - I agree. I thought it felt a little like a gimmick, and I don’t want gimmicks in these last episodes. I thought it was just very distracting.
Same here. BSG is one of the few sci-fi shows that have a plausibility to it, it feels like this story is actually happening somewhere, and to see the Jon Stewart/PC guy there threw me straight back to “reality”.
And besides that, looks like he can’t help being funny, didn’t fit a brain surgeon taking care of a very serious situation.
Still, I guess I will get over it, and Hodgeman might be the new hero among his geek friends.
As for surgery, I don’t think I would want him to do cut into MY brain. His attitude didn’t give me a feeling of competency.
I think that was true for most of us John Hodgeman fans but for viewers who were just like, “Oh, look, the PC guy!” he was probably great comic relief. My only issue is that it wasn’t the right time for comic relief. They should have put him in with Baltar or something.
I think he was masking his own brilliance. He reminded me of the doctor in Muppets from Space, who was modeled on Brent Spiner in Independence Day.
