Saturday I was hanging out at Third Man Records in Nashville, TN for Record Store Day (internationally celebrated, I believe), when someone told me he saw Edward James Almos. I kinda freaked and thought NO WAY! But sure enough he was there and walked right by me.
I went up to him and talked to him for a bit, then asked for a picture with him (he was totally cool about it!), and the girl I got to take the picture asked him, “Who are you?..you look famous…” and he replied, “Carlos Santa” and she said, “I like your shoes!”. (after googling I found out Carlos Santa is not only a famous musician, but also a shoe brand/creator).
I think he was there to enjoy Jerry Lee Lewis performing LIVE later that day (which was postponed until Sunday due to the weather). I went to see the Jerry Lee Lewis performance (amazing!), and EJO was on stage almost the entire time!
I’ve read posts on the record collecting forums I’m on that said he might have been directing the filming of the performance. But, all I saw him get was some video footage with his phone, haha.
There were several articles on the event, but this tweet/article caught my attention the most (and is the only one I’ve found mentioning EJO’s appearance) tweet.
The best part was, later Saturday night I went to a concert and met some people who were also at Third Man Records for Record Store Day and they said, “I heard Carlos Santa was there!” Sadly, when I explained, they didn’t know who EJO was.
