I don’t come here very often but I listen to the podcast every week and I thought you all might enjoy my version of Klingon Gagh that I just posted on my food blog. It is actually really healthy and tasty IMO. And the color of Klingon Blood even though, traditionally, it is not made from Klingons, or beets for that matter.
Damn, that looks good. Weirdly.
Tor.com posts SF recipies regurlarly. I’m not sure if it’s a one person gig or not, but you might want to pass that along to them.
That’s pretty awesome. I’m pretty sure that Klingons don’t actually eat vegetables, although they probably do eat Vegans.
I keed, I keed!
I’m sure it actually tastes quite good, but the idea of eating gagh still kinda wigs me out!
Nice! It’s a beautiful looking dish! Thanks for sharing that!
I know, the absurdness of veganizing a Klingon recipe was not lost on me. But you know maybe there is a vegan Klingon out there, it could be a musical!
“The Vegan Klingon?” It SHOULD be a musical.
In Klingon.
NPR would cover it…
And we would all go see it.
Seriously.
and we would argue if it was better translated into English or in the original Klingon
hey, can we have a thread for learning Klingon? I always wanted to do that
Isn’t there a GWC cookbook being developed somewhere? Because this needs to be front and center as an example of our communal awesomeness. Seriously.
We can and should. Start one.
After the Gagh I made a full on star trek feast including Hasperat, Tube Grubs, Yamok sauce, and Earl Grey Cupcakes. It was really fun! I wish there was BSG food!
How are you with algae?
and how about distillation of liquors? ambrosia, anyone?
Well, I have worked with Agar which is a seaweed a lot like algae… that is a good idea!
Always wanted to try Tranya, Kanar, and Romulan Ale.
Awesome recipe!! And yeah, we totally need to do a GWC cookbook. It can include a bunch of “real” recipes as well as sci-fi and funny recipes…Oh yeah!!
I hope you don’t mind, lazysmurf, I tweeted about your gagh so more people could see it!
You can actually buy Romulan Ale (or beer with blue food coloring branded as such) at the Star Trek Experience in Las Vegas. Of course, it was kind of expensive because it had to be freshly smuggled across the Neutral Zone, plus everything’s expensive in Vegas to begin with
