I Am Legend movie

I read the book years ago and it’s one of the few vampire books that has ever freaked me out. I think the movie captured Neville’s loneliness well, but he didn’t have folks outside his door every night like Neville in the book does, which is much more frightening since they call him by name and taunt him.

I agree with the opinions expressed here about the zombies (though they are alive people who are infected) being too strong. I also thought they missed an opportunity to build the story with the alpha male who tracked Neville. I was really interested in how he retained some human intelligence and they didn’t go anywhere with it. Still, I was glad to see the film made and if it gets people to take a look at the book again, that’s even better.

I liked it actually - thought it was some of Smiths better work (the talking to mannquins etc - really showed dudes sanity kinda went bye bye)

However, they never really got into how the lead zombie/vampire actaull became teh lead zombie/vampire. I got the fact that Smith took his kid…but why did all teh zombie/vampires go “Yeah, let’s follow that dude”. Was it a zombie/vampire caucus?

also - so the virus made everyone look like Voldemort? Damn that kinda sucks.

I’m glad I’m not the only one who thought the vampires/zombies looked like a rip off of Voldemort. The vampires/zombies didn’t freak me out as much as Smith losing his mind from the isolation.

Yea, the infected weren’t nearly as frightening as in the 28 Days movies or other zombie/vampire films. Mental thrillers are much more enjoyable to me than gore-fests.
