Humble beginnings

I was watching my recording of last night’s CBS presentation of the “Super Bowl’s Greatest Commercials 09” and I saw a Budweiser commercial from 2004. It’s the one where one guy is meeting his mother-in-law for the first time and his buddy tells him to take a good look. I want it to be sort of a surprise but anyway, pay close attention to who’s in it.
It’s Brad Dryborough, everyone’s favorite Lieutenant Hoshi!
(I also saw Sean Hayes (Jack from “Will & Grace”) on an old Doritos commercial.)

I thought this was cool and it got me thinking about other actors on the show and where they got started. Is there anyone else you’ve seen on a show or commercial and sat up and gone “Hey that’s…”?

On a related note, I could have sworn I saw the actor who plays Wash in Firefly on a DirectTV commercial this morning! Say it isn’t so!!!

Oh wow, apparently he tried out for the role of Thorne.

That would have been…different

You’re correct, I’m afraid. He and Dule Hill, Gus from Psych, are in that one.

im not recognizing who it is…someone from bsg?

Wash was in a movie i saw “death at a funeral”. it was hilarious. he was hilarious. when i saw it, i hadn’t yet seen firefly. good movie if you want a good laugh.

Dude, read the spoiler.

ok “dude”…didn’t know i was supposed to higlight over it

Yes it is. With one of the leads from “Psych” (the kid from The West Wing. Can’t remember the actor’s name). Somehow I think these guys got paid well for that gig and that they were hired for their goofy sensibilities and geek cred, so I doubt that it was a step down for either of them.

You’ll find that in a lot of forums these days. (Funny thing is you can’t highlight on an iPhone, so it’s essentially spoiler-free.)

Sorry, I didn’t mean to offend, I was just trying to help. I thought it was clear, my mistake.
