How to Train Your Dragon

This movie looks like fun. Thought I would share.

How To Train Your Dragon (in 3D)

Craig Ferguson is in it, this will be great…

but all i want to do is say IYKWIM…

That looks good. Let’s hope they don’t try to stretch and milk the series like they did Shrek though.

Went to see How to Train your Dragon yesterday and I though it was pretty good. It didn’t have any of those annoying pop culture jokes. None of the characters where useless. There was some character development. It had dragons. Most surprising of all, actions had consequences, even for the hero.

I really enjoyed the movie. It was a lot of fun. It had nothing to do with the book really - except for the dragons and vikings  I do recommend it - it is for kids/tweens.

Just got home a little while ago from seeing this movie (3D). Thought the movie was cute and a lot of fun to watch. 3D effects were pretty standard (well to me anywho). Only thing about it that bothered was the main dragon looks too much like Stitch from Disney’s Lilo & Stitch movie but then one of the directors/writers worked on that film too.

Bringing over someone from Disney/PIXAR really paid off, this is the first Dreamworks film that I have seen with any real heart to it. I was really touched by it, anyone who has ever had a pet should see this flick. And the 3D actually seemed more than a gimmick to me, and I would pose that the flight sequences rival those from ‘Avatar’.

I can’t compare the 3D to Avatar…only saw that one in 2D. :frowning: And it’s not available in my area in 3D anymore. But I agree that the flight scenes were wonderful and that the story is touching.

I watched this last week and I really liked it. The 3-D didn’t do much to add to the film for me, but it wasn’t a distraction either. I liked that the main character
lost his leg during the final battle with the giant dragon.
it made it more realistic.

My family went to see this a couple of weeks ago. We saw it in Imax 3-D and it was the most expensive movie I have ever been too. (My huband & myself, our daughter and my mom $60) I was kind of afraid to see the the 3-D because other 3-D movies look black and white to me. I don;t know why, I uust have wonky eyes. Also, I get motion sick and I really didn’t want to leave the theater dizzy and nauseous. I am thrilled to report that I was able to see the movie in full beautiful color and the motion sickness was minimal as long as I looked at the screen straight on.

I agree, Toothless reminded me of Stitch. We loved the story though! My daugther talkes about it every day.
