How Starbuck (not Goo) can save Galactica

Starbuck disappears and dies in an old Viper, only to come back somehow someway… the only thing different was that she came back in a brand new shiny Viper. So have everyone disembark Galactica, give Kara the ship and let her go all maelstrom with it… wait a little while, and before you know she’ll be back with a spic and span battlestar ready for another 50 years of service.

I can just picture the Beings of Light or Lords of Kobol (or Cavilcade, depending on who/what you think is responsible for her return) when she comes thru the maelstrom with a Battlestar.

“Okay, whose bright idea was it to send her back with a fixed ship? I mean, anyone got a spare Battlestar lying around? Anyone?”

Maybe they have lots of Doozers lying aroundw aiting to build the next brand-new replica of a destroyed ship.

Does that mean we can get a new Museum Wing?

Haha, if she did that, it may be more like 10 years before she comes back; they 'sploded all of the battlestars at the beginning so they’d have to start from scratch. :stuck_out_tongue:

Hey good idea.

Battlestar Galactica BSG-75-A

Heh, I like it. Maybe she can take Roslin too, come back with a shiny new president.

The more we discuss Kara Thrace the creepier and creepier I feel about her resurrection. I mean what if Cavil was behind it. What if he killed Daniel because he knew was getting humans pregnant and it didn’t fit with his better machine theory. What if he’s using Kara as a time bomb to find and finish off what’s left of humanity. It’s right up his alley and he could’ve had a resurrection chamber waiting for her if and when she bought it. He’s perverse enough to use her. He blanked the memories of the FF to teach them a lesson so why wouldn’t he use Daniel’s child against what Daniel sought (love/humanity/compassion).

Assuming she’s his daughter and he was what Ellen said (sweet, artisitic and kind).

I like it! Harbinger of bad-sorrybarb death, indeed!

When you see her coming with a gun you do know yer gonna die

(Ask Baltar, hell, half the fleet, IYKWIM).

LOL!! Thats a great idea!

Hm, so that’s how they got the Enterprise back…

They’ll be up to “E” in no time.

I’ve been playing with this theory, too. The key is the Viper – there’s just not many places to get one. Which is more likely: Cavil had a brand new Viper in storage, from the First Cylon/Human war, ready to send Kara back in; or the Viper came from somewhere else, like the Colony?

If it’s Cavil, then there are consequences to that line of reasoning… the first is that Cavil led the Fleet to Earth. Another is that since day one (33), Cavil has always been able to track the Fleet – they only thought they were “running”, and he’s been manipulating them the whole time… the most recent evidence of that is how Boomer got back to Galactica with Ellen. How did she know where the Fleet was? From Cavil, if anybody.

If it’s the Colony… well, frak… damned if I know. If Kara was resurrected on the Colony (and really, where else, this late in the game?), that means there’s a whole 'nother entity out there, that we know nothing about… a bunch of FF clones, with their own ships? Or maybe no clones, but just some other base? Kinda seems late to be introducing a whole new other faction of people, no? Dunno if I’d buy that, at this point.

Things are just coming up Cavil… the FF, Bulldog, Starbuck, Hera being kidnapped. Seems like a lot of roads lead back to him, eventually.

Whatever the answer, I get the feeling with Islanded that we’re headed for another “info dump” episode.

I think you nailed it with that right there.

Poppy Chulo Cavil is puppeteering some stuff. Soon we’re going to get a Cavil episode with that info dump you mentioned.

at the auction list of props and noticed a “cylon transponder” from the CIC which I recall from the show being mentioned once and then no more. That must be Cavil’s method of tracking the fleet.

It would have been teribbly easy to hide a transponder in some dark corner of the ship where no one has been since.

Possibly, but then again they may have been holding onto it in case they decided they needed another one, but never used it.

It’s good to see Starbuck back.

the crew was distressed at finding an unknown device in CIC. I can’t even recall which season it was, but I suspect Season one.

Taking a joke seriously is never a good idea… especially when its your own. With that said, hang with me. This one of the main themes in BSG has been the blurry line between humans and machines, where does one start the other end and does that distinction even matter? Maybe that’s the point of Kara’s new viper, what ever resurrected her is blind to the distinction of man / machine. They perished as one, would it be ethical to revive one and not the other?

I like this idea. Nice.
