There is talk of March or April. How 'bout we set it up so that we are there for the FIRST EPISODE of season 4! We could dominate a bar or reserve a mini convention room at a hotel, and make 'em put Galactica on a HUGE SCREEN they use for presentations!

March…is not a good idea. Hotel rates shoot up pretty quickly in Las Vegas around that time. Between NASCAR and Easter that is not a good time for an event here.
The airfare from Philly to Las Vegas looks pretty steep for April. I imagine it is not too hot for other locations too.
I’m already going to hit Vegas in June for TAM 6 (The Amazing Meeting) and I’d definetely be up for a longer visit then or sometime before/after to hit up a GWC Meetup.
What we REALLY need is for the GWC crew themselves to take unilateral action.
Everyone is going to have trouble finding just the right time to visit. Logistics is ALWAYS problematic. But they are our default leaders and if they say somthing, the troops and alpaca will rally around it.
So i send this call out to you, SEAN, CHUCK, AUDRA, Give us the days of our national meetup, so that we may rejoice and spend all of our money on airfare!!! End of Line,

Xero1, you can drive to Las Vegas. It may be cheaper than the airfare. As long as you can get from Mesa to Bullhead City you then need merely cross the state line at Hoover Dam and then there is just a little bit of driving to go.
As to a date…I have folks asking me off-line too.
yeah, im not too worried about myself as far as airfare goes, ill sell some shwag to get out there, i just want it to happen, so the date is what concerns me. and that Sean can show up… i hear he never shows up to meetups, because of work

My hub and I will be staying downtown end of Prez weekend in Feb.

I’ve always wanted to go to Dragon Con, but that would be another major savings, and uncomfortably close to Fall Startup at my work.

Is this going to happen, or what ?? It would be awesome if it did. For me, all I need is a date and a location…I’m not rich, not at all !!, but this website is important to me, and I’d love to meet some of you out there !! But nothing can happen without some organization and a set date…I’ll volunteer to try and set something up, and I’m sure there’ll be lots of help from you all…but something needs to happen soon, or no one will have a chance to prepare…I would really like to see this group get together in person for a day or two and have a frakkin blast !! It doesnt have to be Vegas, a great location for sure, but if it’s not feasible, where else ??

I’m watching KVVU right now. There is debris falling from the Monte Carlo out on The Strip to my north in Las Vegas. The Monte Carlo is on fire right now.
The last fire on the strip was in 1980 at MGM, according to KVVU, which killed 84 people. The event is breaking and I have not heard of any deaths yet.
If looking to book rooms I highly suggest any of the Stations properties. Sunset Station is fairly close to the airport. Sunset is smaller but would not be as bad of an issue as what has hit the Monte Carlo and is now spreading on The Strip.

I think April 4 might be too soon for those needing time to plan/save. If we can get to June, the rates will be lower. Are you thinking of us trying to watch an episode together as well as take over the Trek bar? I’m with Topgun, let’s pick a date and see what we can come up with in terms of participation. I really wouldn’t want to go into the fall because for those of us with kids, all of their stuff ties up family time and resources. But I would be willing to miss a Pop Warner game for GWC (as long as it wasn’t during playoffs!)
As far as I know, I’ll be here on April 4th. Would it be better to shift to Phoenix perhaps? That’s not an unreasonable drive from here in Henderson. It is only five hours away.
