Hot dogs vs. nachos?

I voted Hot Dog, because generally they always taste good, whereas so often with Nachos in cheap venues, the chips are stale. (Yes, I’m bitter.) But as with so many things in life location is everything. WHERE you eat the hot dog makes all the difference.

I’m proud to say I’ve had both a Fenway Frank and Super nachos at Fenway and both were a religious experience. Nachos at Pop Warner football games are less so. Best Nachos ever? I will date myself- the counter at Woolworth’s when I was in high school. It was like stepping into a time warp walking into that place. Thick chips, sauce piled on, peppers optional.

At the Hoop, the grungy campus cafe in the basement. No, not the tastiest most scrumptious nachos ever, but definitely the most satisfying.

LOL…yup that’s close to what we say around here…lips and assholes…which is why I don’t eat them!

Naaacccchhhhooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

Well, to me, nacho’s are a diversion. Hot dogs are a meal.
And, you can eat’em with one hand, so hot dog wins.
(unless we’re talking bar food, then gimme nachos w/my pints)
But I’m a sucker for most anything you can put on a grill.
A grilled natural casing dog in the backyard with friends… Mmmmm.

Someday I’ll make it to the Annual Hot Dog Safari in Boston.
(All the hot dogs, sausages and ice cream sundaes you can eat, featuring a large variety of hot dog vendors, and all benefits go to Cystic Fibrosis and The Joey Fund. It’s a win-win!)

…And all beef is fine, but what do people have against pork these days?
(I mean, the meatloaf I make is 1/3 pork, 2/3 beef)
Just askin…

Oh i love me some pork. I make my meat balls with a pork beef mixture. But with hot dogs the beef ones just taste better. I belive in the Kosher seal of approval on my hot dogs.

woolworth wow I used to love that place with the counter food so bad its good! but the one I knew closed when I was in junior high I think. ummm think I just dated myself oops.
as for the best place for nanchos in west chester pa at a pub called courtyard well it was more of small restarunt pub and awesome nanchos!

A Fenway Frank at Fenway Park is good, but for my money I’ll take a Dodger Dog.

Still, good nachos are better.

Does the hotdog/sausage have a rash on it?

Depends on the buns.

Sonic’s extra long chili cheese coney is pretty great with extra onions, but neither dish is particularly great until you add pickled jalapeno slices. But if it’s the tasty cheese and the chips aren’t too stale, no dog I ever encountered beats a good batch of nachos.

hmmm–just nachos or nachos with stuff> if it has stuff…Nachos. if not Hot dog

My favorite hot dog is the contradiction dog from Spikes (a New England chain). It’s a meatless vegetarian dog with cheese, bacon, and chili w/ ground beef.

Hmm. One’s a traitor that mutineered against the fleet, the other probably has sexually transmitted disease. Tough choice.

Ask and you shall receive!

AHH I was Rachel RayRolled!!! How Dare you

It’s good stuff!

So last night, the theoretical turned real.

Previous weekend was the kids’ birthday party, and the flurry of activity that leads up to that, plus hectic work, so I couldn’t see Star Trek.

Monday, I have extra work to do, but I cram it all in so I can catch a 7:30 showing of Star Trek.

At this point, I’m starving. There’s a Wendy’s nearby, but I’m cutting it close. No way I can even try the drive-thru.

So I get into the theater. No line for food. I’d been planning to get a big, fat, buttery popcorn. But once I got there, they had… hot dogs. And nachos.

I put my money where mouth is. I went with the nachos.

Ah, it was heavenly. I think I spent most of my 9th grade evenings at a pizza shop, playing Galaga, drinking 65-oz Mountain Dews, eating nasty salty brittle nachos (and then being unable to sleep, all hopped up on sugar-caffeine bombs, not knowing why I couldn’t sleep, and watching Letterman). I don’t think I’ve had low-rent nachos since then.

They were awesome. It’s amazing how your old reflexes come back so quickly – you remember how to ration the cheese, etc. Bad food can be so good. For two hours, the 14-year-old me was back, and he couldn’t have been happier.

Ummm, nachos.

Movie was also awesome.

Until I saw this, and I realized the poster was absolutely right! Mmmm chilli cheese…
