Happy International Pi Day

It’s march 14th. Known in Japan as white valentines, hopefully despite recent tragedy, Japanese couples can use this day to appreciate being together and alive.

But for geeks, today is international Pi day. Because March/14th is 3/14, the starting digits of Pi.

I used to be fascinated with Pi, I tried to remember as many digits as I can. I came close to 100, but more the most of my junior high I can steadily remember 70 digits. And I dreamt of one day playing in the MLB with a huge ? written on the back of my jersey (cough… nerd… cough). Actually I tried to be number pi in school softball team (all they have at my school in Germany), but settled for 3.

Today, these are all I can remember:

what is that… maybe 40 some digits??.. how time flys.

All I can remember is 3.141592, because that’s how many digits my calculator had in high school.

Nice. I plan to make some chicken pot pie for dinner (with a nice slice of apple for dessert). Gotta love pi day!
